Perfect for a relaxing week
We had a great, relaxing week at Le Guichard in August 2017. The house was just as we expected, very spacious and clean so plenty of room for two adults and two teenagers. The house provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. WiFi welcome for the kids and the complimentary wine and cheese and other essentials on arrival was unexpected and a lovely touch. The pool was well maintained, clean and well used during our stay. Lizette was always on hand and very helpful, if required.
There are some lovely villages and small towns to explore in the local area, particularly Brantome and Aubeterre. The river at Lisle for swimming and local shops is great. The restaurant by the river is a lovely spot to spend the evening and the food was very good.
If you are looking for a relaxing week to unwind then this is the perfect place. It is very quiet and a little off the beaten track which suited us fine. We would definitely recommend this property.
Thank you David & Jane for your lovely review. I am very glad you had a relaxing time here and hope you all return soon .
We had ten days in Le Tournosols. Well equipped gite, very spacious, clean and tidy on our arrival. Two bathrooms very useful. BBC television available which was great for Wimbledon! Good wifi connection but no mobile phone reception. Lovely pool and surrounding area. However it is quite isolated so you have to drive everywhere, which isn't necessarily a problem. The cafe in the nearest village, Grand Brassac had closed when we were there. Owner very helpful.
We visited Aubeterre, Bourdeilles, Brantome. Also Lascaux IV which was a longer journey.
A Fabulous Rural Gite Holiday
Just ended a 2 weeks stay here. Gite was beautiful, well equipped and very comfortable. Lovely vine covered terrace for al fresco dining, lots of outdoor space with wonderful facilities including the large heated pool, zip wire in the trees, pool table, badminton net and soft archery which kept the children well entertained. Lizette and Craig could not have been nicer or more helpful.
Grand Brassac is a pretty, tiny little village but does have a lovely cafe and boulangerie. Super Auberge in the next village, larger shops just a 10-15 minute drive away. Loads to do in the surrounding area with markets each day, canoeing on the River Dronne, lake and river beaches, and beautiful towns including Brantome and Auberterre.
Overall a wonderful holiday in a gorgeous part of France. I would highly recommend a stay to anyone.
Thank you Helen for your review. We are glad you enjoyed it here and we hope to see you again in the future . Lizette
Wonderful relaxing location
This Gite was a great size for a family, with everything you could need, including a very comfy bed & sofa to snooze on and the perfect welcome pack when we arrived, including a lovely salmon dinner which was needed after a long journey. Very friendly and helpful owner, made us all feel very at home, but never intrusive. A good size pool plus plenty of things to keep children entertained. A good location for touring around, very quiet but not too isolated. Thank you Lizette, we would happily visit again and recommend to others.
A perfect place to spend some much needed relaxation time. The property was ideal for our needs, spacious and clean and had everything we needed and more with large comfy sofas and wood burner for the cooler nights. It was lovely that the gardens leads down to the pool which was heated so we did have a coupe of dips !. The area was ideal for walks and bike rides and the café in the village was ideal to a morning coffee and the lunch was great value followed by a short bike ride home. Lizette was the perfect host , warm and friendly and providing information about best places to go and things to do. Will definitely be back to this wonderful , tranquil place. Thanks Lizette for the welcome pack.
