Why Andrew & Norma McCann chose Larne
Baythorn House is situated on the beautiful Causeway Coast Road and is your perfect self catering holiday experience. Overlooking the sandy beach this is a beautiful detached 5 bedroom house accommodating 9+ guests with two bathrooms. With stunning sea views of the Scottish Coast including the Mull of Kintyre it's perfect for families or larger groups. Ideal for walkers, cyclists, golfers, young families, elderly guests, etc.
What makes this House unique
The house is very spacious - we have 3 double bedrooms, 1 single room and a room with adult size bunk beds too. There is a bathroom upstairs and another on the ground floor next to a downstairs bedroom with sea views. This makes it suitable for elderly or less able visitors. We have a large living room with a sunroom at the rear. Parking is private with a secure garage if you'd like to store bikes, walking gear, motorcycles, etc. The garden at the rear is slightly elevated offering great sea views too whilst remaining private if you wish to lounge or perhaps BBQ. On your doorstep is a path to Carnfunnock Country Park which is just a 10 minute stroll away. Carnfunnock hosts a walled garden, maze, miniature railway, children's play park, golf driving range and a cafe/shop. Just beyond Carnfunnock is the stunning 18 hole Cairndhu Golf Club with cliff top views of the Causeway Coast and Western Scottish coastline. It also has a bar & restaurant if you wish to dine after your walk. The Antrim Coast Road is a renowned World Famous attraction. It attracts visitors from all over the World and is particularly popular with Cyclists & Motorcyclists. As a keen motorcyclist myself I'd be more than happy to help you plan some routes throughout the region and beyond.

Wonderful home, Beautiful location!
We loved staying at Baythorn house! It was very well stocked dishes and food. The dishwasher and laundry were so helpful to us. The beds were comfy with fantastic warm blankets. It is right across were a cute beach, perfect for searching for sea glass, beautiful rocks and buildings “islands” as my kids called in. The location is ideal and we were able visit many attractions without a long drive. We would suggest Carrickfergus castle, The Gobbins walk, the popular and very best Giants causeway, as well as the rope bridge. We also spent an entire day in Belfast at the titanic experience. We can wait to come back and finish visiting other places that we didn’t make it to and would definitely stay at Baythorn House again.
The pictures are accurate. The place is clean and well kept. The owner, Andrew, was quick to the rescue when we were unable to figure out how to turn on the hot water. The location is a bit further away from Belfast than we expected, but Larne is serene and our family really enjoyed the beach across the street and the playground up the coast. At Andrew's suggestion we ate dinner at the local golf course. Food was good, the view was amazing.
Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Beautiful location and lovely home
Thank you Andrew and Norma for a lovely location from which to explore the surrounding area - the beautiful Glens and an easy trek up to the Giants Causeway. The house was perfect for our extended family. With comfortable areas of the home for the little ones, for eating together and for relaxing, it was just right. Walking along the beach across the street was a treat rain or shine and rainbows every day. Just perfect.
Great place to stay
Really spacious house ideal location for Larne and the coast. Very well equipped lovely hosts .... highly recommended but you will need a car
BOOK IT - Lovely locale on the Antrim Coast
The day before our travel to Ireland, we found out that none of our reservations were finalized because the travel agency was being liquidated. Fortunately for us, we found Andrew's and Norma's place on the Antrim Coast, which far and above better than any other accommodations originally planned. My only regret was not staying longer. We had four adults staying here, and everything was superb. They did a beautiful job decorating, and there was even a lovely bouquet on the kitchen table from the flowers in the garden. I enjoyed waking up every morning at sunrise to watch the sun come up over the ocean from the bedroom windows, and we enjoyed walks on the beach across the street in the morning before breakfast and after dinner. Andrew and Norma were wonderful hosts, as well - accommodating and responsive and full of recommendations. We can't wait to return and stay here a bit longer.
The nicest VRBO I have visited!
The Baythorn House is in a beautiful setting. It is spacious and wonderfully decorated. Andrew and Norma were very accommodating. I hope to return to this house again in the future.
