Beautiful large Stone Bastide (part ancient chapel) in St Antonin-du-Var, near Lorgues, Provence - Quiet and private location, walking distance to a small village with boulangerie, good shop, bar/restaurant, and weekly small market.

Carefully restored and well appointed, there are five large double bedrooms (superking or twin beds), each with an en-suite bathroom. Most bedrooms have private terraces with separate external access to the large (12 x 6m) swimming pool and landscaped grounds of 1 hectare. There is a choice of sunny or shaded seating and dining areas with panoramic views over glorious countryside. Satellite TV, DVD & CD library. WiFi throughout the house and pool and good 3G. An ideal property for friends or families to share.

The house is an hour from the airports of Nice and Marseilles, (also Toulon) in the unspoilt département du Var region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Medieval Lorgues, famous for its large weekly market, has many good restaurants and shops and is a 10 mins drive. It has an ATM and one of the supermarkets, unusually, is open all day Sunday. A one hour walk through vineyards takes you to Entrecasteaux. Charming villages such as Salernes, Villecroze, Tourtour and Cotignac are nearby. The swimming and sailing lake of Ste Croix with the world-famous Gorges du Verdon are a 45 minute drive away. It is under an hour to the coastal delights of St Tropez, St Maxime and Fréjus.

Near the front electric gates is the guardians' cottage where Patrick and Geraldine live.

They are very discreet and act as caretakers, look after the pool, garden, cleaning, technical issues and are on hand to help with any problems.

They speak French and a little English.

Refundable Damage Deposit £1,000

A deposit of 50% of rental is required to secure a booking with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to the rental period.

Changeover day is usually Saturday. We ask guests to arrive after 4.30 pm and leave before 10 am on the day of departure.

Rates are for the whole property, per week, in UK Pounds. Rates include all linen (including pool towels) and 6 hours end cleaning.

                                                                    Paradise in Provence

                                                                    Everything about this stay was perfect! The location (in a small village which boasts a lovely hotel/bar/restaurant, a shop in which you can buy all you need, local wine producers and an organic butchers lorry visiting twice a week) to close proximity to beautiful walking routes and access to nearby towns with great markets, to the house itself which is the epitome of Provence living. Comfortable, thoughtfully restored and furnished and with every amenity you could wish for. The outside areas are great too - a beautiful pool area and several eating/barbecue and relaxation areas to take advantage of the sun or shade as you need. Perfect for large family gatherings as all the rooms are en suit and private except one which has an adjoining room perfect for those with young children although it still has 2 bathrooms! The house and grounds are looked after by a lovely couple who are on hand to help if needed with taxi's advice etc. We will be back.

                                                                    Immaculate and drenched in history

                                                                    It was beautiful, clean and felt expensive. My wife and I stayed with friends at the house and the building lends itself to socialising but there is also plenty of opportunity to find solitude. There are many small towns and villages to visit within a short drive. The locals are friendly and the food is fantastic. I could not recommend it more highly. And I think it was the first time I have ever experienced true silence standing outside on the veranda.

                                                                    A Beautiful French Location

                                                                    Les Hautes-Saints is tucked away in the rolling hills around Lorgues, with stunning views. The house is spacious and full of Provencal character, from the yellow sunwashed stone walls and shuttered windows, to the olive grove and lush gardens. The bedrooms are luxurious, with top quality en-suite facilities and plenty of space.

                                                                    What a delight to sit out on one of the balconies in the warm morning sun and eat your pains-au-chocolat in the peace and quiet of a French morning! Or to take a long dip in the swimming pool in the heat of the day. And the pretty little village of St Antonin du Var is just 5 minutes stroll away, with a boulangerie, a small, friendly shop, and a restaurant. Highly recommended!

Entrecasteaux-castle, and medieval village centre. Salernes big market, famous local tiles Sillans la cascade waterfall. Villecroze pretty town, good for lunches Correns, Carces, Tourtour and many other perched villages. Numerous local AOC Cote de Provence domaines offering wine tastings (Château de Berne, Mirabeau, Mentone, Sarrins, Treilles d'Antonin, Bastide des Près, Clos D’Alari). Walking and cycling tours. Lac Ste Croix and the spectacular world famous Gorges de Verdon. It is possible to drive along the gorge or hire an electric boat. The lake has quiet beaches and the fresh water lake/reservoir is pleasant to swim in the summer. A good day out. The nearest beach is Ste Maxime with a ferry across the bay to St Tropez. One hour to Aix en Provence-lively city with summer open air opera festival.
