Large pool. Walkable to village. 5 bedrooms with ensuites. Quiet and private.

Beautiful large Stone Bastide (part ancient chapel) in St Antonin-du-Var, near Lorgues, Provence - Quiet and private location, walking distance to a small village with boulangerie, good shop, bar/restaurant, and weekly small market.

Carefully restored and well appointed, there are five large double bedrooms (superking or twin beds), each with an en-suite bathroom. Most bedrooms have private terraces with separate external access to the large (12 x 6m) swimming pool and landscaped grounds of 1 hectare. There is a choice of sunny or shaded seating and dining areas with panoramic views over glorious countryside. Satellite TV, DVD & CD library. WiFi throughout the house and pool and good 3G. An ideal property for friends or families to share.

The house is an hour from the airports of Nice and Marseilles, (also Toulon) in the unspoilt département du Var region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Medieval Lorgues, famous for its large weekly market, has many good restaurants and shops and is a 10 mins drive. It has an ATM and one of the supermarkets, unusually, is open all day Sunday. A one hour walk through vineyards takes you to Entrecasteaux. Charming villages such as Salernes, Villecroze, Tourtour and Cotignac are nearby. The swimming and sailing lake of Ste Croix with the world-famous Gorges du Verdon are a 45 minute drive away. It is under an hour to the coastal delights of St Tropez, St Maxime and Fréjus.

Near the front electric gates is the guardians' cottage where Patrick and Geraldine live.

They are very discreet and act as caretakers, look after the pool, garden, cleaning, technical issues and are on hand to help with any problems.

They speak French and a little English.

Booking Notes:

Refundable Damage Deposit £1,000

A deposit of 50% of rental is required to secure a booking with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to the rental period.

Changeover day is usually Saturday. We ask guests to arrive after 4.30 pm and leave before 10 am on the day of departure.

Rates are for the whole property, per week, in UK Pounds. Rates include all linen (including pool towels) and 6 hours end cleaning.

Beautiful family home - incredible rural setting - much to explore at the property and neighbourhood

The property was perfect for our two families, with ample accommodation and communal areas to relax together. We were spoilt for choice as to where we chose to hang out with beautiful uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside especially from the back of the property.

The pool was a real treat - large enough for our party of 8 to have endless fun in.

The daily walk to the boulangerie first thing in the morning was really enjoyable, as were the local pizza's!

A beautifully restored property in tranquil St Antonin

The owners have tastefully restored this old period house which offers all modern conveniences and great comfort. In extensive grounds it has panoramic views over the countryside, whilst the amenities of the village of St Antonin are only a short walk away - including wine tasting. Outside, besides the large pool and pool house (with its own cooking facilities), there are other terraces and a BBQ area which makes it highly suitable for family holidays. Similarly indoors offers a spacious sitting room and other rooms to relax in. All the bedrooms are en suite and very well furnished. There is also a very helpful gardien and his wife on site. All in all this added up to a most enjoyable stay and we Intend to visit again.

Beautiful Home within Secluded Charming Gardens

Les Hauts Saints is a beautifully restored and maintained house set within lovely grounds. The house itself has been tastefully and sympathetically furnished throughout and the feel is one of understated luxury which allowed for a wonderful holiday. The entire house is light and airy, the bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms are all generous in size and the large kitchen is well equipped with the added benefit of a substantial dining area with double doors leading to a wonderful terrace with an external dining area.

The garden on our arrival was full of colour; plants and flowers creating a fragrant and beautiful backdrop for our outdoor living. The weather was just perfect allowing us to spend time by the pool enjoying not only the sun but also the outdoor kitchen within the pretty stone pool house, and the barbecue area just set back from the pool area.

Les Hauts Saints covers an extensive area both internally and externally all to be enjoyed with family and friends, but also making it possible to slip away and have quiet time for reading etc.

Each morning we walked to the nearly village of St Antonin to buy fresh bread and pastries. The village shop is well stocked with local produce and the local winery produces an outstanding Rose - not be missed!

The house is well located for visiting the many nearby villages full of charm, restaurants and cafes, boutiques and small art galleries, wineries etc. The surrounding countryside is also perfect for walking, cycling, kayaking and horseriding. We were very grateful to the owners for the detailed information book they had put together with advice on where to visit, restaurants, events etc. - very helpful.

We absolutely loved our stay at Les Hauts Saints and will be returning.

Paradise in Provence

Everything about this stay was perfect! The location (in a small village which boasts a lovely hotel/bar/restaurant, a shop in which you can buy all you need, local wine producers and an organic butchers lorry visiting twice a week) to close proximity to beautiful walking routes and access to nearby towns with great markets, to the house itself which is the epitome of Provence living. Comfortable, thoughtfully restored and furnished and with every amenity you could wish for. The outside areas are great too - a beautiful pool area and several eating/barbecue and relaxation areas to take advantage of the sun or shade as you need. Perfect for large family gatherings as all the rooms are en suit and private except one which has an adjoining room perfect for those with young children although it still has 2 bathrooms! The house and grounds are looked after by a lovely couple who are on hand to help if needed with taxi's advice etc. We will be back.

Immaculate and drenched in history

It was beautiful, clean and felt expensive. My wife and I stayed with friends at the house and the building lends itself to socialising but there is also plenty of opportunity to find solitude. There are many small towns and villages to visit within a short drive. The locals are friendly and the food is fantastic. I could not recommend it more highly. And I think it was the first time I have ever experienced true silence standing outside on the veranda.

A Beautiful French Location

Les Hautes-Saints is tucked away in the rolling hills around Lorgues, with stunning views. The house is spacious and full of Provencal character, from the yellow sunwashed stone walls and shuttered windows, to the olive grove and lush gardens. The bedrooms are luxurious, with top quality en-suite facilities and plenty of space.

What a delight to sit out on one of the balconies in the warm morning sun and eat your pains-au-chocolat in the peace and quiet of a French morning! Or to take a long dip in the swimming pool in the heat of the day. And the pretty little village of St Antonin du Var is just 5 minutes stroll away, with a boulangerie, a small, friendly shop, and a restaurant. Highly recommended!
