This was a lovely Villa, Difficult to find, but well worth the drive up to this property.

  • 4 of 5

This was such a beautiful Villa. It is hidden away behind a wall and opens up to a wonderful villa and gardens.

Our family of 8 stayed there with plenty of room for our 4 grandchildren to roam. Roberto was very helpful in getting us to the property . It was is a high climb up to the Villa Mimosa. The home is beautiful, has very much character and everything was provided.

The sad thing for us was it rained 2 of the days, But we still were able to go exploring. We visited Pompeii. The little village had grocery stores and we had fun cooking our own meals many days. We would recommend this property to all.

Thank you for all your kindness Roberto and Donato.

Sincerely

The Thurmans

A truly stunning property

  • 5 of 5

Villa Mimosa is a very grand house with fabulous gardens shaded by magnificent three or four hundred year old trees. We 2 couples, each with 3 kids so 10 in all and there was more that enough room for all of us and for the kids to pair off, play hide and seek and explore. The village has a couple of bars, a great pizzeria as well as a good butcher and a few small grocery shops so everything you need. It's a lovely place to base yourselves to visit Paestum in the south, the Amalfitano coast and up to Herculanum, Pompey and Naples in the north.

Highly recommended.

Historical Charm

  • 4 of 5

As 2 families, with 9 people, this Villa had more than enough room for all of us. The kitchen was well equipped and the yard was enormous, perfect for the 5 kids! We used the home as a base for our day trips to Amalfi, Pompeii, Agropolis and Sorrento. The owner and his son were very friendly and helpful to us, we enjoyed the wine and the parting gift! This is a perfect location to escape the bustle of the crowds along the coast.

Most pleasant villa. Delightful vacation

  • 5 of 5

Review #9505910 “Most pleasant villa. Delightful vacation”

We stayed at Villa Mimosa for two weeks in June-July 2014. My husband and I, together with our daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren 11 and 14, had a great time. The villa’s owner was very pleasant. It was easy and very helpful to contact him before and during our stay. The villa was an annex of a grand 17th century mansion. Everything has been modernized with great plumbing and electricity. Yet you get a sense of elegance and grandeur of times past. Large and safe parking for two cars. The yard is delightful with benches, lounging chairs, picnic table and a very efficient grill. Food wise, the restaurant in town is great for pizzas, pastas and simple meals. It is also very economical. You can get staples, bread, vegetable and fruit at the local groceries. We also shopped in Mercato San Severino and had wonderful feasts of grilled steaks, fresh vegetables and fruit.

The location is great: being at an altitude of 1800 feet, it is cooler in summer (we did not encountered mosquitoes.) It affords an easy access to Pompei, Caserta, Monte Cassino, Amalfi, Positano, Capri and Paestum. We also found great beaches at Maiori and Paestum.

Have I forgotten anything? Oh yes, the quiet and tranquil environment at the Villa. Absolutely no noise. In all, it was a wonderful time.

Great place to become part of Italian life.

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in this lovely house made our one week holiday and anniversary with our children a stay in real Italian life. Within two days we were a part of village life. Became a part of the visitors of Bar Centrale and its owner Emilio and did all our shopping in the local shops. The villa was clean, well equipped, cool and had a beautifull garden. As it was september and a few evenings somewhat cooler so we did stay in, we would suggest to put in some more comfortable sofa's. Adding some teatowels to dry the dishes would be nice too. Perfect place to sea Amalfi, Napels, Sorrento, Salerno, the archeological sites (especially with two archeologists in our family) and all the other small places in the surroundings. We will certainly come again.

Owner's Response: Gentili Piet v.

Amazing villa and great location

  • 5 of 5

This place was wonderful! There were 9 of us staying and we had more than enough room. The yard was beautiful and so much room for kids to run around and play. We ate dinner on the back patio several nights. Hugh fireplace in the den with plenty of firewood. Even though it was May and warm during the day, it stayed quite cool inside and we had a fire most evenings. Everything was clean and it was well stocked. The kitchen was very large. The owner was delightful and easy to contact. It was not a far drive to Pompeii, Amalfi coast, Sorento, Salerno, Naples and other places. Local grocery and butcher shop were walking distance and very helpful, although not much English spoken. Great to have a washing machine, too! We stayed a full week and would absolutely stay there again and will recommend it every chance we get.
