About the property

Here we try to learn from nature how to feed our lives.

Our hermitage is wrapped up by bands slowly restarted on agriculture because here is the nature that makes it a master. This home is our attempt to learn from her how to feed our lives with the energy that is there (she knows how to do it very well).

We live this home as our agricultural hermitage. It is a place to nourish both body and spirit with an apparent solitude in the midst of intense wildlife. We want to share this beauty, welcoming guests every once in a while. We do not offer a tourist stay but a direct experience of the happy decline. We think that a week may be a sufficient time to make a meaningful experience and measure with that rhythm that has accompanied our ancestors for millennia and which is so far away from the city life. It is a rustic house that we have completely restored with simple materials, raw and cooked land, slate (we are in Valfontanabuona, that of slate), wood, wool. Heating is wood-burning in a fireplace with built-in stove integrated with an old wood-burning kitchen. Solar energy makes it a landlady for electricity and water heating. Home electricity is in 12V (battery). There are a number of cigarette lighter sockets available on the market. There are several mobile phone charger and laptop adapter chargers available (there are a number of pins available but not all that exist). The 220 V is only available in case of an emergency with a gasoline generator. To ensure the availability of hot water with any climate, the house is also equipped with a gas boiler. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, a small camping type fridge. In front of the house we have set up a large terrace with pergola. It is an extremely lived place because it overlooks a vast mountain and sea view (in the distance). The house is literally surrounded by trees, cherry trees, apple tree, pines There are 2 double bedrooms, one with divisible beds, and a children's room. The house is surrounded by numerous bands that we are gradually recovering to agriculture.

The house is fully available as well as access to the garden and to all the surrounding lands. The last mile of the road is dirt and is therefore not suitable for very low cars. Alternatively, you can leave the machine at the beginning of the dirt road and travel the last stretch in about 10 minutes. The house and 10. 000 square meters are surrounded by a fence to prevent the entry of animals into cultivation but it also allows you to leave your dog free.

We are always present on the day of arrival to welcome our guests. Subsequently, the intensity of our presence is calibrated on the needs of our guests: from the minimal and discrete connection to the work in the fields, passing through the food supply (it takes 25 minutes to reach the first store), to the most intense Of sharing daily moments.

It is a very isolated place surrounded by forests (browns and oaks, ...) and aromatic plants. Wild animals are easy to see. Daini, roe deer, wild boars, foxes, pheasants, pheasants, pigeons, guinea pigs, ... The first inhabited house is 1 km away along a dirt road. The small hamlet of Lezzaruole of San Marco d'Urri is 2 km away. There are no shops. The first village where all kinds of shops are located is around 25 minutes away. Approximately 10 minutes by car you can easily reach the Urri stream. In a very wild and unknown place for tourists (even locals) you can dive and swim in natural pools excavated by the creek in the rock, we can guide you safely along a canyoning path rather sporty between waterfalls and crossing of large Tanks between rock walls. Walking past the historic "salt road", about 1 hour walk, you reach the Highway of the Mountains a path that runs through the whole of Liguria through the top of the mountains. Approximately 1 hour by car you can reach Recco, Camogli, Portofino and Cinque Terre (2 hours).

How to move

A bus arrives at the village of Lezzaruole, however the frequency is very low and therefore not very practicable. The valley bottom (Ognio water) is well served by the bus line 15 connecting the railway station Brignole di Genova with the train station of Chiavari. For people who come by bus we can propose transportation with our Ognio Water Machine and possibly, when we can, from Brignole Station in Genoa.

Agricultural products are available on seasonal availability. Potatoes. Onions, carrots, garlic, .... We do not offer wifi service but the 4G network reaches the hermitage. Signal quality is variable. For example, it does not always allow a decent internet phone call. Instead, it's almost always possible to send messages and search on the internet.
