About the property

The house is exceptional with its three-storey accommodation, providing the perfect home away from home in the historic village of Sydenham. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a housekeeper who will show you around. The housekeeper lives nearby and is on hand, should you have any queries at all during your stay.

Sydenham has excellent transport connections to central London and Gatwick airport, making it very accessible if you are visiting from overseas. Alternatively, if you’d like to travel to the house by car, there are no parking restrictions outside the house or on surrounding streets.

The house is just a 7 minute walk to Penge East and Sydenham train stations from where you can travel directly into London, to Victoria, London Bridge and and Canada Water respectively. Sydenham station is served by London Overground’s East London Line for seamless Tube connectivity, as well as Southern Metro services with fast trains to London Bridge (15mins) and iconic parks, museums, supermarket, cafes, pubs and restaurants just a stone’s throw away.

Victoria is London’s transport hub, with National Rail services converging there, excellent underground connections and access to National Coach services. London Bridge also has superb underground and over ground rail connections. Both of these stations are easily accessible from your home – taking a little under 20 minutes to arrive at each.

The house has all the modern appliances and fittings that you could possibly desire. With unlimited wifi throughout the house, a TV with cable service including all your favourite channels and a living and dining area fully equipped to handle 12 people, you will be able to enjoy meals together. A huge range cooker is at the heart of your kitchen, making it easy to cook for a large party. Why not sit back, relax and even enjoy some al fresco dining in the spacious back garden! The property is child friendly, spacious and perfect for a lengthy break in one of the world’s most amazing cities.

Please note that the parking on the street is not restricted and our guests can park there as long as there is a free spot.

This unique house is located in the historic village of Sydenham in South-East London, famous in the #########’s when springs of water in Wells Park were discovered to have medicinal properties, attracting crowds of people. The area was also home to Lionel Logue, the Australian speech therapist who “saved the British monarchy” as described in the book and 2011 Oscar-winning film “The King’s Speech”.

The surrounding area offers a great deal to explore. Sydenham itself is full of boutique cafes, restaurants, pubs and a wonderful little book shop. There’s a supermarket nearby, as well, should you wish to prepare food for yourself during your stay. Dulwich village with an abundance of old-world charm is just a short bus ride away. En route, you will find one of London’s true gems, the family-friendly and free Horniman Museum. With its 16 acres of botanical gardens surrounding it, you will feel like you’re in a suburban paradise, right in the middle of London.

With some of the most amazing tourist attractions less than 30 minutes away, including the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Tower Bridge and the Millennium Eye, you’ll be truly spoilt for choice. With Central London’s world famous department stores on Oxford Street and Regent Street also very accessible, you can indulge yourself in some retail therapy! London has so much to offer, so why not visit the outstanding museums at South Kensington or even take in a West End show?

House Rules - Additional Rules:

The London Residents Club wants you to have a fantastic stay, so encourage you to see the space as a home away from home - treating it as though it is yours!

There are, of course, a few things we politely ask guests to note before their arrival and throughout their stay:

• Maximum group size: 12

• Strictly no smoking, no pets, no parties

• No candles

• Dispose of rubbish appropriately

• Keep the property clean and tidy

• Whilst washing up and stripping the beds at check out would be appreciated, it is by no means expected

• Please keep the noise down and respect other neighbours in the building

• Please remember to close all windows and doors when leaving the space

• Ensure the heating is maintained at an appropriate temperature throughout the stay. If the heating is excessive, i.e. over £100 per month, you will be expected to cover this cost

*Please note that once the booking is confirmed we will arrange a check-in time. If you arrive 2 hours after the agreed time you will be subject to a £40 late check-in fee

**Please also note the check in hours are between 3pm and 10pm. There will be an additional fee of £20 for check ins between 10pm and 12am, and £40 for check ins past midnight Any questions or queries regarding the above - don't hesitate to get in touch, we're more than happy to help!

***The check-out time is fixed at 10 am due to our housekeepers needing access after this time but if you would like to leave your packed luggage in the property before your next transit, we will do our best to accommodate this (subject to availability). This is a really popular property so we often have guests checking in on the same day as you depart but we may be able to accommodate a late check-out but please check with us so that we can confirm this. There is a fee associated with a late check-out but we only charge £35 for you to use the property until 3 pm and after that, you will have to purchase an extra nights stay.
