About Glenda and Jake McKneely

My name is Glenda and my husband Jake. Our Vacation Rental is the Home where my husband grew up. Owned by his sweet Mom and Dad, W.C. & Willena McKneely. They have now gone home to be with their Heavenly Father. We wanted to be able to take care of the home place and wanted others to enjoy the sweet atmosphere of the quiet country living. This Home has been a place where they raised 7 children, 5 girls and 2 boys. They all worked hard on the farm growing up. Instilled in them was a relationship with Jesus Christ with lots of love and laughter. Our hope is that you can find that quiet place and hear God's voice as you escape your routine everyday life. We hope you enjoy your stay and will want to come back again.

Why Glenda and Jake McKneely chose Cherokee

I came to know the Lord in 1997. It was then that I realized who I was in Christ, His daughter, the daughter of the King. Then in 2013 I met two wonderful ladies Ginnie and Sarah Johnson. These Ladies are authors, Artist and songwriters. They co-wrote the Book, Trading up for a King's Daughter. This book was my heart also and I have shared it with many people. Ginnie is the one who suggested I name the Vacation Rental The King's Daughter Inn. I have available for purchase at the Inn, books music and artwork these two ladies have to bless you with if you are interested. You can checkout their website at when ordering online be sure and select my name as the Regal Celebrator, Glenda McKneely

Great place to unplug.

  • 4 of 5

We had a nice one night stay with our best friends. It was easy to find and Glenda was great about contacting us and making sure we arrived safe. I got up early and watched the sun rise to start out the perfect day. Thank you for sharing your wonderful place with us.

Cozy and relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Hill Country King's Daugher Inn was short, only 1 night, but it was perfect! Glenda's hospitality was incredible! We hope to go back one day and stay longer and enjoy the atmosphere of this property and the area. Thanks Glenda!

Nice Relaxing Home

  • 5 of 5

A friend and I stayed here for a couple of nights while hiking Colorado Bend State Park. The house was perfect with 2 very comfortable beds in a nicely outfitted home. Glenda came by to meet us and is a very accommodating, spiritual young woman. We enjoyed grilling in the evenings while resting and soaking in the beautiful country setting.

Anniversary Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this cottage! The country location is perfect for people needing time away from the city! We needed to unplug, rest, and reconnect. And this was the perfect place for it!

The beautiful prayer garden and outdoor space provides scenic tranquil views, and the nights were spent enjoying each other's company in the cozy country space filled with rustic charm. Each bedroom provides a queen sized bed. The family that owns the cottage has been there for at least two generations and knows the area well, and provide plenty of brochures and personal insight! Glenda, provides a great Breakfast-it was delicious, and also had a coffee bar ready and waiting! We can't wait for the next chance to go back!

Experience the real Texas hill country

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a place to crash near Gorman Falls, so we have a base camp to leave the kids and senior behind while we hiked, and then sleep overnight as well - this was the perfect place! Glenda is a really loving host! The home is very well appointed and clean. It has two bedrooms both of which have easy access to the bathroom and a nice living area. Glenda went out of her way to accommodate our diet needs and still made us a really delicious breakfast, got us some toys etc. for our kid and in general made absolutely sure we had everything we needed! Of course, this is real Texas country-side, so it comes with deer-skin decorations, the odd pest in the rains, and a 50 mile drive to the closest Walmart as a part of the adventure!
