Cherry Hinton is a large family house set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. We live in a very quiet neighbourhood, and for this reason we regret we can't host hen or stag weekends. Sorry, no pets.
We have a beautiful garden covering 2 acres, the highlight of which is a wonderful natural swimming pond. The pond and deck area is a great venue for family gatherings. There are also many hidden parts of the garden, with hammocks, quiet corners, a meditation labyrinth and a tree platform. There is also a sauna. There are many fruit trees and a large kitchen garden.
The interior of the house has a light, spacious living room (11m length) with wood-burning stove; a bright and cheerful kitchen; and a conservatory leading on to the front lawn.
From October to April, only the main house is available: this consists of four double bedrooms and one single bedroom (one of the double rooms is on the ground floor, with its own door to the downstairs shower & toilet). A sofa bed in the living room is also available if required. From May to September, there are a further two small doubles in the converted stables, which have their own kitchenette and toilet. Adjacent to this are two single cabins. Please note that the fee covers use of the main house, and each additional room will incur a small extra cost.
Next to the swimming pond is a changing room with another toilet, and an outdoor shower; there is a further outdoor shower next to the house.
Whilst we welcome children, the house is not suitable for toddlers because the decking leads straight into the deep end of the pond with no protection. Therefore, infants/babies fine, and over 6 years also fine.
No pets, sorry.
We are in the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to major attractions such as Bodiam Castle, the Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway, the famous gardens at Great Dixter and Sissinghurst, and the historic towns of Rye and Winchelsea. We are around 20 minutes from the beach at Hastings, Camber Sands, or Winchelsea Beach.
