About Linda and Keith Scowcroft

Chinley Moor House has been part of our family for a long time. Linda was born and grew up here, and we bought the house from Linda's parents after the birth of our first son, to bring up our own family in. Our two sons are now grown up and, since our retirement, we've turned our attention to making our home pay its way! We live here with our dog, Danny, and enjoy regular visits from our young grandson.

Linda and Keith Scowcroft purchased this apartment in 1950

A perfect little studio for us and our dog Skye!

  • 5 of 5

The studio felt pretty spacious for the two of us and our dog. Everything we could need was provided.

We could walk out of the door and start a walk off road immediately, just lovely!

Ideally situated for enjoying the Peak District without being in the middle of a tourist filled town.

The road it's located on is not a secluded quiet road but I slept well so didn't notice!!

Pubs for food are a drive realistically unless you are happy to walk down a dark footpath for a mile, or on a roadside.

Linda was very communicative and happy to help with anything we needed.

I would definitely recommend!

Thank you 😊

Schönes Apartment in perfekter Lage zum Wandern

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was beautiful. Very warm and spacious. My Partner and I both loved our stay. Both Linda and Keith were very lovely people and helped us with any questions we had. We felt at home, the views were amazing.

We cannot wait to stay again.

Very inviting and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This was our first holiday in the peak district and we loved it. Everything we needed was close by (or an easy drive away) and we loved the walks into the villiage. The pubs in the villiage was very welcoming espcially as we have a big(ish) dog. The accomodation itself is set in a lovely area with walks starting just outside the gate. It is well stocked and looked after and i think has everything (and more) that you need and the welcome pack helps you get started. We loved it so much we are already going back in december. The owners are very welcoming and friendly which adds to your stay.

We're situated close to the picturesque village of Hayfield with its cosy pubs, winding streets and scenic views - and with plenty of potential for walking, fell running, mountain biking, horse riding and rock climbing in the rolling hills and beautiful countryside right on our doorstep, we're in the perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts.

The larger towns of Manchester and Sheffield are within easy reach, so you won't run out of things to see and do, even on rainy days.

If you're looking for beautiful scenery, historic homes, or delicious afternoon teas, nearby Lyme Park, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Castleton, or Edale are ideal day trips, as is the lovely spa town of Buxton.
