An eccentric 1970's property is beautifully nested in the heart of the Maiella National Park, just a few hundred meters away from some of the most stunning landmarks of the region. The property consists of a main house that sleeps 8, and a smaller annex that sleeps 6. The perfect base to explore the mountain, the countryside - with its unmatched enogastronomic tradition - or the seaside, which is just 30 km away. Very close to both Rome and Pescara airports.
The property consists of one main house (up to 8 people) and an annexe (6 people). Each house has a fully equipped kitchen and an open fireplace made of stone. There is a very large grilling station in the garden. The Main House: On the ground floor there is a large sitting room, a smaller bar and a dining room - where the fireplace is - with a table that comfortably sits 12. Upstairs, 2 double rooms and 2 single rooms, equally comfortable. There are two bathrooms, one with the original tiled bath tub and the other with a recently installed shower cabin. The Dependence: The house is a starting point to the Maiella trekking paths and is connected by road or by car (2-4km) with Adventure Park in the Pine trees of Piana delle Mele. Guardiagrele and the villages around have a gastronomic interest. Not only restaurants but also farms and fields with a still strong tradition. Abruzzo offers the opportunity to live both mountain and see: skiing during the winter watching the adriatic or spending a summer day at the beach and going back to fresh rocks of the valley at night. The basement used to be the wine cellar and food pantry, and it was also built to host, equipped with a few tables and chairs. The annexe: The smaller house has a nice functional kitchen, and a comfortable dining area that sits 8, also in front of the fireplace. Also on the ground floor is the master bedroom, and a bathroom. Upstairs are double rooms with twin beds and two single rooms. The bathroom upstairs is very special as it was salvaged from a ship.
Guests can enjoy the full use of the large garden and the oversized outdoor BBQ station.
Bocca di Valle, and the surrounding Maiella National Park, is a corner of paradise. This is the only property in the area, otherwise off limits to development. The house was built renovating a pre-existing structure and enjoys breathtaking views over the valley. Just 1.5 hours hike from the San Giovanni Falls, beautiful waterfall in the middle of the forest, perfect for a summer hike. The ski resorts of Passo Lanciano are only 21 km away and the beach is only 30 km away. There are plenty of enogastronomic opportunities ranging from rustic trattorias to Michelin starred restaurants, like villa Maiella, just 3 km away.
Ou can explore the region in a number of ways, by car, hiking or by bike.
