Excellent property

  • 5 of 5

This was a beautiful property, in immaculate condition. We had a lovely stay. This is in an excellent location with easy access to many local sights and places. One week is never enough to see everything in this part of the country. We were blessed with an excellent heatwave, always a bonus in this country.

Photos are great but not the standard that we expected on arrival.

  • 3 of 5

Poole as a destination is fantastic and we had a great week all in all. The property however didn’t live up to the standards that it perceives in the photos. Furniture was of a poor standard throughout and the bifold doors leading to the garden didn’t work so we couldn’t have them open all week. All bedrooms had standard cheap non blackout blinds in the windows without curtains, so when the sun came up at 5 so did my 3 year old. Also it’s nice to be left a bottle of wine and a few sachets of hot drink on your arrival, but people go to properties like this with family and will want to use the facilities available to cook breakfast and evening meals so simple things like cooking oil and salt and pepper would be nice and maybe descale the kettle every so often! The property was managed by Quey property rentals and we spoke to them on a couple of occasions and was given the fluff on the phone to have no call back or communication or answer/resolve to any of our concerns. Luckily we were in a fantastic part of the country and the weather was good most the week so we didn’t spend that much time at the house but if you are stretching yourself in the knowledge you think you are getting quality then don’t let the photos deceive you because this is a property that has had a lot of corners cut.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your constructive feedback. We have passed these comments to the owner with regards to improvements to the property including the blinds and furnishings. Unfortunately the issue with the balcony doors occurred over the weekend and a contractor was arranged at the earliest opportunity to fix them. We’ll take into consideration your suggestions for the welcome pack items when we next review the packs – with so many options available nowadays it can be difficult to provide something to suit all tastes. We hope to be able to welcome you back at some point again in the future.

Our Locations

Poole Quay...

Poole Quay is an exciting, ever-changing blend of maritime activity and a focal point for a wide range of entertainment and leisure pursuits. Pleasure craft offer trips direct from the Quay to Brownsea Island , Sandbanks and beyond, whilst anglers can book fishing trips at the Fisherman`s Quay . If you simply want to promenade along the waterfront past the visitors` marina and have a meal and a drink, then the Quayside and Old Town areas are packed with excellent restaurants, pubs and winebars offering huge variety and choice.

From the Quay, shoppers can stroll up the pedestrianized High Street, with its wide range of retail outlets and facilities. Safe Blue Flag sandy beaches at Sandbanks, Branksome and Alum Chines are just 15 minutes away by car and the natural beauty of The New Forest is approximately 30 minutes distance away. A short trip on the Sandbanks chain ferry offers the option of even more beautiful beaches skirted by sand dunes and walks in the National Trust protected Purbeck Hills.

Poole Town...

Poole Town lies approximately 6 miles west of Bournemouth and is highly accessible both by car and by train – the station is moments from the main shopping area. Poole is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful country of Dorset, its stunning beaches and its Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

For cultural events, the Poole Lighthouse theatre and concert hall offers a dazzling array of dramatic productions and music, and is home to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra . Shopping facilities in Poole focus around the Dolphin Shopping Centre and the pedestrianised High Street, interspersed with cafes and coffee shops for well-earned refreshment.

A stroll down the High Street leads visitors to Poole Quay, and the multitude of bars and restaurants offering an excellent array of culinary choice. Once replete, why not walk off lunch with a stroll on The Quay and along the harbourside path at Baiter? The beauty of Poole Town is that all of these attractions and facilities are within easy walking distance of each other. Whilst Poole Town is an excellent base for beaches and for exploring the beauty of the Dorset countryside, there is no shortage of things to do and see on its very doorstep!

Poole Old Town...

Poole`s Georgian Old Town is steeped in history. The recently extended Museum in the Lower High Street tells of Poole’s earliest development as a port sheltered within the World’s second largest natural harbour, and of its extensive trade links with Newfoundland.

If you want to explore Poole to the full, leave your car behind and join the Cockle Trail – a walking tour of the Old Town, which tells visitors how Poole Town developed into the flourishing destination you see today.

Sandbanks...

Internationally recognised as Britain`s playground for the rich and glamorous, Sandbanks offers fabulous beaches and stunning views across Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island with regular ferry services to the National Trust haven. The famous chain ferry across the mouth of Poole Harbour links Sandbanks to the beautiful Purbecks with dune-backed beaches, and huge areas of National Trust-owned countryside. The delights of Swanage and its restored steam railway are a short distance beyond, as are the dramatic cliffs of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Restaurants in both Sandbanks and Canford Cliffs, including Cafe Shore and Loch Fyne offer top-class cuisine, whilst for more frenetic nightlife, Bournemouth and Poole town centres are both a short drive away.

Bournemouth....

Bournemouth is a vibrant cosmopolitan town with a vast variety of shops, restaurants and a buzzing nightlife. With its’ seven miles of golden sands and beautiful award winning gardens Bournemouth is an ideal destination for holiday makers.

Hamworthy...

Just 10 minutes` walk from Poole Quay via Poole`s historic lifting bridge, Hamworthy is a quieter, predominantly residential area and Harbour Reach is the latest example of regeneration in this convenient location.

The development offers some of the prettiest views of the natural harbour with Poole Yacht Club in the foreground and a wonderful vista across the harbour, to Corfe Castle and the Purbeck Hills beyond. Located close to Cobb`s Quay Marina Hamworthy is a great base both for strolling into Town, and for driving out to explore the wider Dorset region.

Harbourside Park...

A low-density development of town houses and apartments built approximately 25 years ago offering a great strategic location adjoining Baiter`s harbourside park, close to Poole Park with its scenic level walkways, and yet only 10 minute`s stroll into Old Poole and its historic Quayside.
