What makes this Chalet unique
Melbury has a contempory style interior with all the mod cons and en-suite facilities. There are some fantastic views at different angles and being on top of a hill overlook some of Thomas Hardy's Blackmore Vale. Melbury chalet is unique in that it has it's own hydrotherapy spa bath on the veranda and is popular in the evenings after a busy day sightseeing. Hardy chalet has recently been refurbished throughout with new wet room to the downstairs bedroom. The first floor has a double room with own balcony and en-suite shower over bath. The twin room has en-suite shower room. The kitchen has had a bit of a revamp and apart from new appliances a new extended tiled floor allows the dining table more room. The open plan lounge has two brand new leather reclining sofa's and a stylish black glass fronted simulated coal fire. Both chalets are situated on the borders of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire and allow easy access to many attractions.

We had a lovely time. Property is 5 star quality. Games room is great. Plenty for the children to do even when the weather is bad. Could not fault it. Our thanks to Christina, for a lovely stay,
Lovely chalet in beautiful location
Just returned from a weekend in the Melbury Chalet. Chalet was pristine and well equipped, hot tub was lovely!! Highlight of the weekend was going to see the cows being milked. Will be coming back for sure! Thank you Christina
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay and hope you had a good meal at 'The Ship Inn'.
It will be a pleasure to welcome you and your friends again.
Beautiful accommodation in fantastic location with helpful owners
Perfect New Year break for three thirty-something couples. The hot tub was lovely, the fields were fantastic. The owner even let us feed the calves! Well equipped and thoughtful accommodation. Highly recommend!
Thank you so much for your lovely review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your New Year's break.
It was lovely to meet you all and I hope you will visit us again in the future.
The perfect break.
Chris and Martin are the perfect host and the lodges are the best we have stayed in. Very clean and they have everything you could ever need, even a washing machine. The farm was fabulous for the kids and they loved seeing he calves being born(even Wayne enjoyed getting stuck in delivering some calves) The kids (and me and my wife) loved seeing the cows being milked and it was great that Martin asked our kids if they would like to feed the calves their milk. The lodges are an ideal base to just stay and relax or if you want to see the sites like monkey world and the tank museum etc they are not to far away. The local pub offers great food and the staff are all very friendly and welcoming.
We will definitely be looking into going back as soon as we can and would recommend these holiday lodges to any one.
Thank you for your lovely comments. I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay in Melbury chalet.
I look forward to welcoming you back again.
very nice but not perfect
The lodge was very nice but I would have liked a zip and link bed for the master bedroom, also the shower cubicles were a bit on the small side.
The owner is very nice and helpful
Thank you for your comment. We appreciate the double beds are of a standard size but we will be looking to upgrade to a king size in the master bedroom that will match the other beds in the chalet.
Unfortunately we are unable to provide larger showers in the upstairs bathrooms as the ceilings slope, restricting the size of the shower cubicles.
Would definitely recommend this property.
This rental property was delightful. Set on the top of a hill with wonderful views, it was a clean, well furnished and very comfortable home to stay in. Ten minutes from Shaftesbury and within easy traveling distance to Salisbury, Sherborne, and many National Trust properties. A great opportunity to spend time in one of the most historic and beautiful areas of England. Christine and Martin were very welcoming and helpful. Would not hesitate to rent this property again
Thank you for your lovely comments. It is always satisfying to know my guests have enjoyed their stay.
If you ever wish to stay in Dorset again do look us up.
