Two bedroom apartment in Gibraltar's prestigious Ocean Village, with stunning marina views. The apartment comes fully furnished, bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and reversible air conditioning.
It has a fully fitted open plan kitchen with a living/dining area which opens on to a sun deck terrace with panoramic views of the Marina and the ocean
The apartment comes with communal gardens, pools, jacuzzi and membership access to the new state of the art gymnasium. The property includes a parking space and access to all the communal facilities.
The new marina has a wide range of shops. Cafés, restaurants, nightclub and a new Casino. Gibraltar has many tourist attraction: dolphin safaris, fishing trips, cable car to the Upper Rock, nature reserve, St Michaels Cave and the historic Great Siege Tunnels.
A super stay in Gibraltar in this excellent apartment - we have stayed in other apartments in Gib, and to be fair there are cheaper also but this is a case of you get what you pay for and paying extra was worthwhile for a well-appointed flat in the heart of Gib’s nightlife (even in Early April). Apartment itself is bright and airy and well a laid out, everything you could need is there (Perhaps maybe an IPOD dock/clock). Large Balcony is great, almost a room in itself and a wonderful haven, shaded in the morning and overlooking the sunset in the evening. As it is on the 12th floor it doesn’t suffer from problems of the waterfront restaurants with big reflections off the marina at sunset. Tempting it might be but avoid marina facing seats at a waterside restaurant at 8pm!
The Marina is the place to be - busy and alive but it quietens at a sensible time as well. Make sure you book your restaurants! Bianca’s was and is always a favourite, and very popular, but there are many options for all tastes.
We holiday regularly to Gib and are quite aware that the top of the rock and the bottom of the rock can be quite different for weather. It can leave you a bit unsure of what to do for the day when you can’t see the top of the rock in the morning. Having a couple of options for the day is a good idea in case the clouds roll in to the top of the rock. The apartment doesn’t have a rock view but this doesn’t mean it has no view. The view over the bay is equally as spectacular.
Finally a great view over the runway with the chance to watch the planes landing - use the provided internet and flighttracker and watch the early morning Jets fly over Malaga and then hopeful around the rock to landing. See the pilots that are used to Gib and those who are not so used to landing at a challenging airport, quite a difference even between two Monarchs twenty minutes apart. The new terminal is such a difference (last time “arrivals” was in the new building and “departures” from the old). Though it’s the departure lounge, the view of the rock from the full length windows is spectacular. Special thanks to the BA pilot on the return - you can use Ipads on take-off now so an absolutely stunning video of a 270 degree flight around the rock. (Book the LH seats and hope for a take-off to the west – RH on the Way out)
Oh, and thanks to the RAF for a stunning view of a C17 on approach - What a size that thing is!
We will be back again to Gib and this apartment
We had a family holiday here at the end of August. Renu was fantastic and accomodated us amazingly well. We fortunately changed over to the 2 bedroom garden terrace appartment which with 3 young children was fantastic.
The resort-My children loved all the different pools and it was so safe for them as there was a variety in depths of the pools and it was never too busy so we didn't ever stuggled to get sunbeds. The security was top notch and we felt very safe with young children.
There were lots of restaurants 1 minute away which all had childrens menu deals-in most places the kids could have 2 courses and a drink for £5 or under- very reasonable.
All in all we had a thoroughly relaxing family break. Thank you.
My husband and 6 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Renu's delightful apartment. We found it clean and extremely well equipped. The bedrooms were comfortable and both have doors leading onto the large and spacious balcony. There was a dining table large enough for 6 and a separate sitting area with two large armchairs and a sofa. What luxury! For me, these large outdoor areas are what make the Royal Ocean Village building such a fabulous place to stay.
Renu was fantastic and went out of her way to welcome us and provide us with a wealth of knowledge and suggestions. She even brought in some extra toys for our daughter. Highly recommended.
A late review but just had to share this wonderful apartment and great facilities.
The location is a perfect base for exploring all that Gibraltar has to offer, there are some great restaurants close by with excellent service..Charlies and Biancas being our favourites.
The apartment has everything you could possibly need and the owner even went that extra mile to help us out with the loan of her own childs buggy which was so kind. There was also a nice welcome pack on arrival which included wine..essential after a long journey.
The complex is fantastic, very clean and well maintained.
I would recommend this property when visiting Gibraltar if you appreciate the best.
We will be back.
Thankyou to Renu x
We have no hesitation in recommending this 1st Class apartment. Its location, cleanliness and views of the marina were fantastic. The proximity of restaurants and the shops in Main Street was such an advantage. The apartment caters for all ages with easy access to the apartment by lifts. The apartment itself was furnished to a very comfortable standard, especially the beds... having travelled with elderly folk there were no complaints!!
Upon arrival at the complex we were met by the property manager showing us to the apartment and taking time to explain how appliances etc, worked.
Looking forwarding to our revisit in 2012
Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our holiday in Gibraltar. Absolutely loved the resort, apartment and pools. Lovely complex and great restaurants, everything is so convenient. The kids especially loved it!
Please pass on our thanks to Dan, we hope he continues to let the apartment as we would love to holiday there again.
We are so jealous of you and Laura living in Gibraltar full time!
Hope you enjoyed your own holiday.
