Three Bedroom House, Sleeps 6
Mr Marsdens Cottage Holidays
Good base for exploring North Devon
We spent 4 nights together with our parents and our children in Lyn Cottage in February. The cottage is nestled in the very hilly town of Lynton, which is an interesting little place to stay, with a couple of convenience stores within walking distance and a variety of other independent retailers - clothing/art etc. There is also a funicular railway to get you down to the sister town of Lynmouth which is also worth a visit.
On our arrival we found plenty of parking and the property was very private. The building could’ve done with a lick of paint on the outside and our first impressions inside were that the decor was rather tired and in need of an update.
However, the owners had left tea and coffee and much to my kids’ delight, a packet of biscuits. A very nice touch. There were plenty of seats for the 6 of us in the dining room and the kitchen facilities were good.
The beds were all comfortable with nice cosy bedding and there were wardrobes in two of the rooms.
The owner had supplied a variety of tourist info leaflets, board games and books which came in handy.
A nice cosy place for a short break.
