About the property

"Bellas Mouse" is a much loved 4 / 5 bed, 1 / 2 sitting roomed, historic Cornish cottage.

Minimum stay is 2 or 3 nights dependant on the time of year. 1 night stays only when there is a one night gap in the calendar (message me about this).

Christmas, New Year: 5 night minimum.

Weeks: £800 - £1,500.

Weeknights = £150 - £275.

Weekend nights = £250 - £375.

We have the following dates left this Summer Holidays:

Friday 4th August - 1 night

Saturday 12th - Monday 14th August - 2 nights

Wednesday 23rd - Saturday 26th August - 3 nights

Found in the old heart of the arty town of Penryn, just a mile or so from Falmouth, this vibrant historic waterside town has pubs, a wine bar, deli, award winning eco cafe / studios / music venue, pottery, artists studios, great fish and chips and Indian takeaway and much more.

Shute Lane is in a conservation area and "Bellas Mouse" is a listed cottage on a quiet no through lane with only two houses worth of vehicles passing by.

Enter through a gate in the wall into a courtyard with stable doors into the main house and the Annex.

The Annex has a studio room which has a double bed, small table and chairs and shelves. There are doors to the Annex bathroom and kitchen, which has a door to the back terraces.

The main house is abit of a warren of steps up, down and round ! Most rooms are dual aspect and the light is lovely as the doors are all partly or fully glazed and the walls thick and curving catch the light.

The main sitting room has an open fire and slouchy sofas, the second sitting room a comfy single sofa bed and additional seating.

There's a door through to the dining room with a table that sits 7 or 8 if you pull it out from the wall (or bring the little fold out table from the Annex) and a comfy chair. Doorway down into the kitchen which leads out into a little walkway courtyard with steps up to the back terraces. From the dining room are steps up and to the right a cloakroom and way to the terraces and to the left upstairs to one double, one twin and a single bedroom and a family bathroom.

The terraces are lovely and private with water views and glipses over to St Mawes, along with a BBQ, table and seating for 6 and a bench for outside eating.

All bedding is provided and laundered professionally and the house is looked after by our wonderful housekeeper Molly and her husband Ben.

Shute Lane is quite steep and the house such that I do not recommend her to guests with restricted mobility (there are changes of level to the terraces).

There is a parking space up the lane out side our garage. Further parking is on the road or some guests use the long stay car park on Commercial Road which is about 400 meters from the cottage. It is free to use Monday - Saturday 4pm - 9am and all day Sunday and is very reasonable outside of these times. Charges are by the hour, 24 hrs or weekly and payment can be made by mobile phone.

It is fine to pull down the lane to quickly unload into the front courtyard when you arrive and leave. Bellas is just a few minutes walk from the train station for those on public transport.

We really appreciate our neighbours. If you are likely to party or disturb the neighbours then with the greatest respect this is not the holiday house for you !
