Recently renovated ground floor apartment located on the famous Jordaan area.
This apartment has a double bedroom with a king size bed large wall to wall closed. Large living room with a double sofa bed and dining area. Fully equipped new kitchen (including new kitchen appliances) modern bathroom with bath tub. Separate area with washing machine and dryer. Large garden with garden furniture. Cable TV, flat screen TV. Wooden floors on the whole apartment very well decorated with great attention to detail. Broadband Internet.
I stayed at this apartment for 5 nights with my husband and 15-yr old daughter. The apartment is very spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The neighborhood is quiet but offers several options for eating nearby, and a wonderful open market very near to the apartment. There is good tram access to several places, and it is also easy to walk to the train station and other points.
The apartment was very clean and nicely decorated.
Mary was very helpful, preparing useful information on the neighborhood and available by email throughout our stay,
This is the perfect apartment and location in Amsterdam. My husband and I stayed for 5 days and felt very fortunate to have found this place. The neighbourhood is delightful, with a lovely quiet ambience. Lots of little bars, restaurants and cafés close by. Grocery stores are only a short walk. It is easy to access to all the sites in the city. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. Recently renovated, it had everything we needed. I loved the back patio. It seemed to bring the outdoors inside. Mary met us at the apartment and was very helpful, showing us on the map everything we needed to know. She was very prompt getting back to us whenever we had questions. I left behind some belongings, and Mary quickly found them in the apartment, and kindly sent them back home for me. I would highly recommend Palmgracht 61 to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
This apartment is an absolute gem! Yes, the photos are beautiful, and, to my astonishment, the apartment is even better in person! Mary, the owner, was there to greet us upon our arrival. She was incredibly friendly, helpful and thoughtful, going so far as to having a fresh arrangement on the dining table and making an Advent wreath for us since we stayed over the Christmas holiday. She has really thought of everything you may need for your stay, from tissues on the nightstands to dishtowels to laundry soap. The kitchen was nicely equipped, with service easily for a family of four or more. We had access to any extra linens or towels we needed, as her linen closet was also well stocked. Much to my delight, there was even a fan available (I love sleeping with the sound and air movement). As for sleeping, the kind bed was very comfortable and the bedroom was absolutely quiet, with no second floor above. With a double sofa bed, a double futon, a roll-away single, and a king in the bedroom, the apartment would easily accommodate a larger family. Had the weather been better we would have loved to have taken advantage of the beautiful terrace off the back, complete with thriving planters and window boxes...very charming. As to location, again, it could not have been better! A wonderfully quiet street with adequate (but expensive) parking which was great for the day of our arrival and departure. (We then moved the car to the nearest Park & Ride, for which Mary had included information, which was only 8 Euros/day.) From the beautiful street in the Jordaan, we were able to walk everywhere, with the city center being a leisurely stroll of around 30 minutes. There are also plenty of bakeries, butchers, grocery stores and wonderful wine stores within 10 minutes, with a bar or restaurant on just about every corner on the way. Once we parked the car, we just walked everywhere during our stay. I could keep going on and on; it was so lovely. I HIGHLY recommend this apartment.
We just returned from a 2 week stay in Amsterdam, and having never been there before we didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised at how lovely Mary's apartment was, and how great the location was for touring the city, not to mention how quiet it was once you had finished with a busy day of being out. Mary was wonderful and informative, and we have already passed along a recommendation to a friend who will be visiting Amsterdam in the near future. For a quick and casual meal, we found Stout to have great food, and was within walking distance. What we enjoyed most, was biking everywhere, and stopping off to shop the local markets. We would definitely go back.
This apartment was perfect for our stay in Amsterdam. My husband and I stayed there with our 3 year old son and could not have been happier. The apartment is on a very quiet street with a small median --there is a playground within a stone's throw of the apartment in the median as well as benches and a ping pong table! Convenient if you have a child but we also saw folks out there enjoying a bottle of wine, etc. There might be other streets like this, but I never saw one. And the was very little traffic too. I loved this small street.
The apartment was very comfortable, had great amenities and was spacious. It was immaculate and an extra bed was set up for our little guy on arrival. The wifi worked great and the bathroom and kitchen were well-appointed. The only thing that made this apartment "not perfect" was the lack of air conditioning-but I am kind of wimpy without it. That said, we were the in late July, there were fans and I slept like a rock my entire stay anyway! So it really isn't so much of a problem as a preference.
The location was ideal in my opinion. Walking distance from most things you want to do (although the tram became more and more valuable as my young son and my feet got more tired throughout our trip). The tram is within a 5 minute walk.
Mary was very friendly and flexible with our arrival time. She thoroughly went through the apartment and how to use everything and was very helpful. She was also prompt communicating.
I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone (which is even nicer than the pictures) and would definitely stay there again!
I agree with the comments of all of the previous people who have rented Mary's 1 bedroom apartment. She was VERY helpful when we arrived and provided all information needed to make us comfortable and acquainted with the apartment and the cool Jordaan neighbourhood. We walked from Central Station to the apt. in 15 minutes. We walked all over the city almost every day because, if you're wearing the right shoes, Amsterdam and all of the beautiful museums, galleries, canals, flower markets, restaurants and shopping are within 45 minutes of Palmgracht 61. My husband and I strongly recommend this well outfitted, centrally located apartment. We would certainly rent here again.
Located in the middle of the Jordaan area, just meters away from the famous Brouwersgracht
