We are sisters, Alison & Julia, living less than a mile apart in a village just outside London, England. Our two families bought the villa together after falling in love with the beautiful island of St Lucia on a family holiday.
Julia & Alison purchased this villa in 2008
Villa Carouge is primarily our 'holiday retreat' and we have done our best to create a beautiful and comfortable 'home from home' for our large extended family to enjoy.
We allow a limited number of rentals throughout the year.
The villa has beautiful views across the golf course and the security of a gated community. Villa Carouge reflects our love of St Lucia, with many local pictures and artefacts; it is well maintained and cared for and our guests appreciate its comfort and homeliness.
Just finished a wonderful 28 day stay at the Villa Carouge - part of the Villas on the Green complex. The villa was perfect to accommodate my family for the first week, my friends for the second part, & lastly my sisters. Having 3 bedrooms with ensuites was nice. The kitchen was the perfect size but we lived on the terrace - nice & big with both shade & sun as well as an overhang to protect us during the quick rain showers we encountered. Thank heavens the communal pool was completed as Cotton Bay Resort - a 10 minute walk down the road is like a ghost town since the "hotel/resort" part of it closed. There are still some people living and renting the villas but not many villas look occupied. Very sad since I am sure it was beautiful in its heyday. The Atlantic Beach "Cas En Bas - Plantation Beach" is very "chill" and great for kiteboarders. Rodney Bay town is great for grocery shopping - 3 grocery stores to choose from as well as lots of restaurants. We rented a car for the month and I am glad since in order to go to the Caribbean Beaches - we needed the car. Went to the Pigeon Island Beaches plus did the sightseeing as well as toured all over the island. The favourite activities were the catamaran & scuba/snorkelling boat rides down the Caribbean coast. Andre & Helen from Costless Rent A Car were stellar and oh so friendly and helpful. Actually, most of the St. Lucians were lovely people - nice, interesting and willing to help. James, who drove us at night in his minivan (Thank you Welcome, the manager for recommending him) was great. The use of the Cap Maison Resort Card was a nice touch - enjoyed a few lunches there with my guests - the views overlooking the Caribbean are awesome. All in all a great trip made comfortable with the lovely Villa Carouge. Thank you. Ontario, Canada
We stayed at Villa Carouge for 2 weeks in December 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The owners maintain the villa to a high standard and we were impressed by the decoration and cleanliness.
Julia dealt with our queries very quickly and provided excellent pre arrival information on the villa, directions and car hire etc.
Kitchen – we found everything we needed, it had a good selection of utensils, pots, pans etc.
We requested a fresh food welcome pack (milk, bread, cheese, butter etc., from the management company and this was waiting for us on arrival. Probably a good decision as our flight from the UK was delayed and the welcome pack meant we didn’t need to rush out on our first evening. Basic food items, salt, pepper, pasta, coffee were available in the store cupboard, Other items such as tin foil, cleaning equipment are also provided, we just replaced items as we used them.
Bedrooms – The bedrooms are a decent size and have plenty of storage. Good quality fittings and hairdryers. The bathrooms are well maintained and clean.
Misc – wireless internet worked well in the villa and it was wonderful having British plug sockets – no need for adapters!
Outside – The views from the patio were lovely and we barbequed on a regular basis. The new community pool was completed whilst we were there and is a great addition. It is exactly 25 paces from the Villa Carouge patio so not far to walk - we counted, how sad are we ….
The security guards were unobtrusive but available if you had any questions.
There are several beaches close by, we favoured the beach at The Landings – sunbeds are available for hire from an independent not connected to the hotel (around £12 for 3 sunbeds and a brolly). There are no private beaches on St Lucia so you are free to roam.
All in all, this is a great villa in a great location.
We had a wonderful stay in this villa, offering all you need and more. Quiet surrounding and near to the beach. We loved it and highly recommend the villa.
Very well equipped and spacious villa, good location although you do need a car. The property was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this property. Rodney Bay full of good restaurants from expensive to moderate price range. Lots of activities and tours to be had, especially the Zip Wire and a speed boat tour to Soufriere.
We stayed at Villa Carouge for two weeks over Christmas and New Year's. The villa is perfectly set up for three couples. Everyone has their own space yet there is also lots of common space both indoors and out. The three bedrooms are large with comfortable beds and ensuite bathrooms. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook and serve meals for six. The location of Villa Carouge is very convenient to beaches, attractions, restaurants, and shopping in the north end of the island, but you do need to rent a car to take advantage of this. Cotton Bay beach is an easy walk from the villa and many other beaches are just a short drive away. Pigeon Island National Park, with its lovely beaches, good snorkeling, historical sites, and great roti at Jambe du Bois is less than 10 minutes away by car. Rodney Bay is also about 10 minutes away by car and is a good location for restaurants or shopping. We had a fabulous family vacation at Villa Carouge and would love to return!
There isn't a bad thing to say about this great villa 5 minutes walk from the beach.
The house backs onto the golf course with a stunning view. Its also less than a ten minute drive to Reduit beach which has all the watersports and restaurants you could hope to visit over a holiday. We would definately consider coming back
Villa Carouge is located within villas on the green, a quiet gated community with it's own swimming pool and beautiful landscaped gardens that border St Lucia's only 18 hole championship golf course. Situated on the stunning Cap Estate on the north east coast of St Lucia, Villa Carouge is a place to relax and unwind, on the most beautiful island in the Caribbean.
The secluded and unspoiled beach of Cas en Bas in Plantation Bay is an easy 5 min walk away where you can sample the local cuisine and ambience of the locals own beach bar, Marjorie's.
Rodney Bay Marina is a short 10 min car ride away and boasts great value restaurants and bars overlooking the bustling Marina. Just half a mile further takes you into the new shopping mall, selling everything from groceries to designer name clothes and duty free diamonds.
There are a myriad of restaurants to choose from in the area, all within easy reach of the villa.
Other Activities: Kite surfing
Golf: The villa backs on to the only 18 hole golf course on the island.
The golf club welcomes non-members and equipment is available for hire.
