I grew up in Germany but have been living in Iceland since 1995. I am married to an Icelander and we have two children. I work as a CFO in a contractor firm.
Owner purchased this House in 2017
Why Owner chose Borgarnes
2016 me and my husband bought the little house in Borgarnes in West Iceland and renovated it. We would like people to come to our beautiful area and explore it.
What makes this House unique
The house was built in 1928 and is in part in the traditional style with a modern twist. Right behind our house there are several old icelandic turf houses. You have a fantastic view over the mountains.

Great communication and owner!
We weren't able to stay due to a massive storm off the west coast but the owner was very helpful and gracious with our predicament. We will be staying here (again) at the end of the year.
Beautiful, ideal location
This cottage has everything we wanted - great location to explore West Iceland, convenience, privacy, as well as beautifully renovated. Borgarnes is a nice little town and the cottage is within easy walking distance to shopping and the town pool. The host, Stephanie, responded quickly to our questions. We loved this place.
Cozy and cute
Lovely details and spotless. Stephanie was very responsive and helpful. The heated floors were a great touch. I'd stay again just for the water pressure - an incredible shower! Beds were very comfortable and Borgarnes is a neat town.
Wonderful and cozy place to stay for the holidays.
I loved staying in this little cottage. It was the perfect base for adventures in the Snaefellsnes Peninsula and surrounding areas. It felt like the ideal getaway and was warm and cozy on the cold and stormy nights that sometimes blew through while we were there.
Beautiful, very clean neat and cozy!
Excellent place to stay. We would certainly recommend it.
Great little place
Only real note (mainly for us Americans), the stairs upstairs were steep compared to what we are used to in the states. It's normal for Europe and such.
The only other things was the stairs are a tad slick so I almost slipped down the stairs when I was coming down wearing socks because there was no friction. Not a big deal. Just something to keep in mind.
