Prime Beach Location in Tangier: Ideally situated for the beach in Tangier for those who like to swim or fish. Children will love the sandy beach.
Walkers and runners will prize the promenade and the beach, extending the width of Tangier Bay.
Painters and photographers will fall in love with the quality of the light and the changing sea and skyscapes. Quiet location for those needing to concentrate, yet with facilities around if you need them.
Fine dining and casino at the 5 star Mövenpick Hotel at the eastern end of the bay. Enjoy a spa treatment at the Rif Hotel and Spa, a ten minute walk in the other direction.
Nightclubs, cafes and bars with world renowned performers also line the western end of the beach
Ramses Oriental Cabaret is just 5 minutes walk away .
Buy Pay-by-the-Day 3G internet from INWI to stay in touch with friends on the web. INWI Outlet at airport sells SIMs for 20 MAD (approx €1.80). 7 days' internet for 70 MAD (€6.30). Other rates available. FANTASTIC connection
Not JUST McDonalds, but also Kandinsky!: Cafés, sandwich bars, laiteries, salons de thé, ice cream parlours and restaurants serving plain basic Moroccan meals abound along the Route Malabata as you go west. Most cafés serve omelettes for breakfast.
Look for fine dining further into town, although the newly opened Panorama Café opposite with a prime location overlooking the bay serves a range of light dishes. Next door, virtually on the beach, you'll find Bio-Grill, an echo of Restaurant Populaire in the medina, serving a fixed 3 course menu of home cooked food at the relatively modest price of 200 dirhams.
Kandinsky, a little further along the boulevard, is one of the must-visit places in Tangier. The ice cream sundaes and crèpes just might defeat you. The waiters are charming and have character. They all speak a variety of languages. You can also pick up the pocket guide to Tangier at Kandinsky.
And yes, McDonalds is right opposite the apartment.
Places to visit: The Kasbah and the Medina, housing a warren of streets and markets of old Tangier, are star attractions. Unless you have an acute sense of direction, it might be good to pick up a guide the first time. Haggling is expected. Start at just under half the asking price, or even less, and see what happens.
Some shops do charge fixed price but this is usually shown as a notice in the window. Looking for something really authentic? Ask to go to the Bazar Phoenicien.
The American Legation Museum is well worth a visit.
You can walk to the Kasbah and the medina, but you will probably prefer to take a petit taxi, the small turquoise cabs with a yellow stripe along the side. Agree the price before you set off. In March 2011, I paid 40 dirhams for a trip from the apartment to the Kasbah.
Try to get out to Cap Spartel to catch some fresher air and see the Atlantic rolling in, while the grotto of Hercules has a distinctive opening. Enjoy baked sardines in one of the cafés on the terrace.
I was one of the lucky generation born after the Second World War who had the opportunity to go to university and then travel. I have lived and worked in Botswana, Uganda, Sri Lanka, and latterly Oman. I live in Leicestershire, UK and am a keen photographer. My family has grown up, as you can see from the photo. We all have shares in the apartment
Sue Hutton purchased this apartment in 2010
I have always dreamed of having an apartment overlooking the Mediterranean. The opportunity became available in 2009 to secure this wonderful vantage point in the exclusive Miraflores Borj in Tangier. The property is well finished and furnished and I had confidence in the management.
Wonderful view over the Bay of Tangier, just 100m from the beach. Both sunrise and sunset - marvellous light.Fully furnished and equipped because it is a home from home. Walls feature my photography. It has a 'woman's touch.' Over the road from McDonalds and close to a wide range of restaurants, particularly Kandinsky's and Panorama Cafe. Direct flight from London Gatwick to Tangier International Airport. There in 3 hours.
We had a wonderful time there. I loved your decoration and the beautiful view. We wanted to thank you for everything

Overlooking Tangier Bay and just 100 m from the beach, the apartment is ideal for those who seek both a relaxing rest in the sun as well as those who want to explore the city and enjoy cafe life. Ideally suited for families. The railway station lies a mere 500 m away with connections to other major centres in Morocco, such as Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, Marrakech and beyond. Visit the Kasbah, the souk barra in the medina, the many cafes and ice cream parlours lining the promenade. Kadinsky's, famous for its icecream sundaes, is less than 5 minutes away. Enjoy traditional spa treatments in the many nearby hotels. Bargain for mementoes in the souk. Play golf at the world famous Royal Country Golf Club. Tangier predates Roman history. You can see Phonecian rock tombs. The city has a legacy as a haunt for artists and writers during the 20th century, such as Jean Genet, Paul Bowles and Tennessee Williams who would meet at Cafe Hafa. This cafe was established in 1921 overlooking the Straits of Gibraltar. A very restful venue especially in the summer, where you can enjoy Moroccan cooking. Barbara Hutton had a mansion here. The American Legation Museum in the medina was the USA's first diplomatic mission. It now houses a museum with a rich archive on Tangier's more recent history.
Golf: Tangier Royal Golf Club (18 holes, par 70, 6100m) on Route Cap Spartel
