Quiet Neighborhood-Near Everything
The House is perfect for a quiet Beach vacation, in a quiet friendly Neighborhood. The House is beautifully decorated and well equipped with all the upscale items any family would need to feel like they are at HOME. The location was perfect for day at the Beach or trips to Cedar Point, Put in Bay, Wineries, and a Big Hit with the grandchilden was the African Safari Wildlife Park
( drive thru park and feeding animals from the Car). Huron had Riverfest during our stay, with a parade, Fireworks, entertainment and Carnival, a little slice of Americana. We had a wonderful vacation, thanks to the owners and the beautiful home we rented.
Inviting, clean and cozy cottage
This cottage was adorable! It was clean, relaxing and had everything we needed. we really enjoyed the deck and the beach was a short walk. we would stay here again and recommend it to others!
Darling cottage in perfect location!
This darling, clean cottage met and exceeded our expectations!! The location was perfect and was very quiet. The deck was a huge plus! We enjoyed our stay and would consider returning next year!
Our Family really enjoyed the cottage and would definitely stay there again. The property is in great shape and has easy access to the private beach.
The perfect place for our family's Lake Erie getaway!
Our family of 6 (5 adults and one 17-year-old) spent 5 days at this adorable cottage in the area I enjoyed on weekends with my family when we'd visit my grandparents in Cleveland as I was growing up. The "homey-ness" of the cottage and of the area in general brought back so many great memories for me! The home was clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable - comfy beds, a dining table large enough to accommodate our game nights, a kitchen with all the necessities (including a Keurig!), plenty of towels, a lovely deck for morning coffee and evening drinks, and a garage that held beach chairs, a beach umbrella and other beach-related items that made our day on the beach perfect. The cottage is within walking distance to two beaches and the cart that was provided hauled all our things to the closest one so all we had to do was carry a few beach towels.
The cottage is within an easy drive to Cedar Point, where we spent two full days, and to Catawba, where we took the ferry to South Bass Island/Put-in-Bay. My daughters and I also spent time shopping in the darling Sawmill Creek boutiques, only about a 15 minute drive away. There aren't a lot of restaurants in Huron proper that were open for some of our late dinner times, but there were a few and plenty in nearby Sandusky to provide us with several dining options (Small City Taphouse for sushi and a huge craft beer selection in Sandusky and Pied Piper ice cream just down the main road in Huron were standouts!). Being close enough to these things but away from the "touristy" area around Cedar Point made this place the perfect location for us!
The only caveat I have for a group of adults is understanding that the loft area has a very low ceiling and twin-sized beds, which were just fine for my 5'-4" and 5'-6" daughters, but my almost 6' son had to be a little more careful and curl up to sleep and my 6'6" son only ventured up there once. He slept in the second bedroom downstairs, and had to sleep a bit sideways because his feet hit the opposing wall otherwise, but he said the comfortable bed more than made up for that fact. Honestly, it wasn't really an issue for us - there was so much to love about the place - but I guess it's fair to bring up in case that's a concern for some people.
I truly can't recommend this place highly enough. Brad was wonderful to work with and did everything to ensure our stay was all we hoped it for. It certainly was...and more!
Great place! Coo Coo-tastic!
My wife and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend with our 3 kids at the lake. We've rented in Old Homestead II once before, but really liked the beachy vibe this place provided. Owners were great to work with and fun memories were made.
Close to Cedar Point and right on the shore of the "Walleye Capital of the World." Home is located approximately 10 houses from a private sand beach. Nearby park has a basketball court, tennis court and multi sports field. Public boat launch on the Huron river is about 1/2 mile away. Restaurants, pharmacy, grocery store are within walking distance. No Smokimg Property
