Quiet Family Friendly Resort On The Corwall Devon Border.

Beechdene Lodge is located on the upper slopes of a wooded valley, towards the centre of a purpose built holiday village, which occupies 30 acres of beautiful Tamar Valley countryside. The large south facing balcony deck appears to nestle among the tree tops and looks out towards the Tamar Valley in the distance, while the spreading branches below give extra privacy and obscure the rooftops below.

The accommodation is 'upside down' with the living area and kitchen on the 1st floor opening on to the wonderful decking balcony which is perfect for relaxing in the afternoon sun.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are all on the ground floor.

Honicome Manor has comprehensive leisure facilities available on site including indoor and outdoor pools, gym, sauna, games room, tennis courts, children's play area and communal grounds with two streams running through the valley.

October half term

We had a lovely stay at Beechdene, the accommodation was clean, modern and had everything thought of to make our stay enjoyable .

The swimming pool was very enjoyable , although 2 1/2 days are of our holiday it was unusable . We only went to one night of entertainment, it was Bingo and our family won, the first game so that was great .

Although there was wifi in the games room and bar, with 3 teenagers it would gave been ideal also in our accommodation , although it didn't spoil our time there

Schönes Ferienhaus in zentraler Lage.

Das Ferienhaus liegt innerhalb einer Wohnanlage zentral am Freizeitbereich (Kneipe, Indoor- und Outdoorpool, Billard, Indoor-Kinderspielplatz, Rezeption,...), ohne dass man davon in irgendeiner Weise gestört wird. Der Indoorpool im Haus-Paket enthalten (wohl nicht bei allen so). Das Haus ist zweckmäßig aufgebaut, vollkommen ausreichend für 6 Personen und bei der Lage der Schlafzimmer im Erdgeschoss hat sich jemand etwas gedacht, der nicht gerne im warmen Dachgeschoss schläft - für uns sehr gut! Parkplätze stehen wenige Meter vom Haus entfernt in ausreichender Anzahl zur Verfügung.

Kleinigkeiten (einfache Lebensmittel, Getränke,...) sind bei der Rezeption zu erhalten, für den Wocheneinkauf gibt es einen Tesco in Callington (ca. 5km entfernt) und einen Sainsbury-Superstore in Plymouth (ca. 30min entfernt).

Freizeitaktivitäten sind in der Umgebung zahlreich vorhanden, ein Auto ist allerdings erforderlich um zu den bekannteren Orten zu kommen. Empfehlen können wir hier auf jeden Fall Tintagel-Castle (!!!), Eden-Project, Minack Theatre (schöner Strand in direkter Nähe), St. Michaels Mount, Paington (Dampfeisenbahn nach Dartmouth), St. Ives und Kynance Cove. Wer Interesse an Kultur und Geschichte hat ist mit einer 9- oder 16-Tage-Mitgliedschaft der English Heritage bestens beraten (9 Tage für Familie mit 4 Kindern kostete keine 60£) - es lohnt sich bereits beim Besuch von Tintagel und Stonehenge (hier vorherige Anmeldung im Internet beachten!).

Der Kontakt mit der Vermieterin Sue ist herzlich, unkompliziert und informativ. Fragen werden in der Regel innerhalb kürzester Zeit beantwortet.

Insgesamt ist es sicher keine "Nobelherberge" aber es war sauber und ordentlich - und seinen Preis auf jeden Fall wert! Wir können es in jeder Hinsicht weiterempfehlen.

The Tamar Valley is a designated area of outstanding Natural beauty located on the Devon/Cornwall border on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The beaches and coastine of both north and south Cornwall and Devon are within reach as well as the wild open spaces of Bodmin and Dartmoor.

Historic Plymouth can be visited on a picturesque steam train ride from the local station and boasts a number of exciting attractions on arrival such as the National Maritime Aquarium. The ancient market towns of Tavistock, Liskeard and Launceston are also close by. Cotehele House and Morwellham Quay, both on the river Tamar are well worth a visit. The Eden project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are only about 30 mins drive.

Many outdoor pursuits such as golf, cycling and mountain biking, walking, riding, tree surfing and climbing. Fishing, boat trips and canoeing on the Tamar river.

Use of the leisure facilities on site is included in the holiday rental along with heating and bed linen.
Travel cot (please provide own bedding), high chair and stair gates are available within the weekly tariff.
Additional fee of £25 per dog (2 maximum). Changeover day during July and August is Saturday (unless last minute availability).

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
