Great choice. Would definitely stay here again. Place was very nice, great location and view. Sandro was super nice and helpful
Just returned home from Italy. We are a family of 5. 4 adults and a baby. Our first stop was romantic Venezia. This apartment is clean and spacious with a balcony that overlooks the canal. It is well located as restaurants and supermarkets are close by. It is also walking distance from San Marco square.
Sandro is charming and helpful. He doesn't speak English but with technology we communicated quite well.
Would recommend this apartment if visiting Venice with a family.
The place was as advertised. Wonderful location. The views from the top deck were stunning. The place was clean, well furnished, comfortable and exactly as the pictures said. All in all it was a excellent choice on our part and we would definitely stay there again. Sandro was accommodating and helpful.
Would highly recommend
This was my 4th time to Venice and by far the best place I have stayed. The apartment was in perfect location, away from all the tourist crowds. It was wonderful to be amongst the locals and interact with them. The wine bar below was the perfect place for meeting locals who come by daily, or for an evening nightcap, and the owners were warm and inviting. With the bakeries and market near was great for getting for groceries. It was not a far walk to the fish market or Rialto. The balcony, with its wonderful view was great for having morning coffee, watching sun rise and to just people watch. The apartment itself was perfect and very well stocked. I look forward to staying here again on my next visit to Venice.
Venice was last stop on our family European trip, & while we had stayed in some nice apartments in Rome & Paris, our kids proclaimed this apartment the "nicest" one. We are a family of 5 from U.S. (2 adults, 1 teenager, 2 children), & this was perfect for us. As someone else mentioned, the view from the balcony of this apartment was amazing. I had agonized when booking as to whether we should book an apartment right in the city center with views of the smaller canals, or this one - which seemed a little more off the beaten path, & I was so glad we chose this one. It is very close to San Marco Square (10-15 minute walk?). The balcony has a amazingly lovely view of the Grand Canal (as pictured), & overlooks a beautiful Venetian street. Below the apartment are several restaurants & shops (many of restaurants cater to English-speakers & include gluten-free menus), & kids were safe to play on street as we ate outside. It was not crowded during the day & was quiet at night (we slept with windows open - June). The beds were comfortable, & wifi worked great (we were able to connect hook up our iPhones, iPads, etc., as well as Roku (which we brought with us to watch English-language movies at night). Plenty of room for all 5 of us! Sandro was super nice -did not speak much English, but we got by! BTW, stairs weren't bad as others seemed to be in Venice - only 2-3 flights & not steep. To get to 2nd bedroom & balcony-1 more stairs.
To get to apartment, we came into train station & took Vaperetto (35 euro for 5), and if you take line 4.1 or 5.1, you can get off at Arsenale (Line 4.1) or Giadarni (Line 5.1) - about a 30 minute trip by boat, and 5 minute walk from station. From Giadarni, you turn left and walk down Riva dei Sette Martiri, & then turn right onto Via Giuseppe Garibaldi. The little street (CORTE DELFINA) is across from the Post Office on your left. From Arsenale, you turn right on Riva dei Sette Martiri and then left on Giuseppe Garibaldi. We had to figure out how to get back to the airport, & discovered Alilaguna airport boats, about 15 euro each (60 for our family, since our littlest one was under age 6). The website said you had to get on at the San Marco Vaperetto stop, so we lugged our suitcases across several bridges to get there, only to get on at San Marco and find that the Alliguna stopped at Arsenale as well. Live and learn! Advice: stop by San Marco Valperetto earlier in trip and get tickets & info.
I could simply echo the remarks of the previous reviewer (Helen B - no relation), but our stay was made more interesting by the fact that my wife slipped and broke her leg on the second day of our stay. We then got to experience how kind and helpful the neighbours and staff in the local bars could be. They all showed great consideration when we were slow and awkward and I must give special mention to the local pharmacy who lent us a wheelchair. With great views from the bedroom windows as well as the roof terrace, we did not feel trapped in the apartment. Sandro and his wife showed understanding when we had to leave some hours earlier than planned for our slow journey to the airport. The only tiny criticism I might have is that I would have preferred an electric kettle and bigger mugs ! - Loved Venice, loved the Redentore fireworks and loved the apartment.
The apartment is located at the beginning of Via Garibaldi, a still authentic and real, where you can live like a true Venetian. Characterized by multiple stores, discount supermarkets, fish market and fruit, which give the area an atmosphere of yesteryear. It is close to S. Pietro di Castello, where he developed the first settlement in Venice more than 1000 years ago. In 5 minutes walk you can reach the Basilica of St. Peter, the oldest in Venice and the first seat of the Patriarch of Venice (now in S. Marco). In 10 minutes you can walk to Piazza S. Marco, the Rialto Bridge and the historic monument of the S. John and Paul. The apartment is located between the stops 'Gardens' and 'Arsenal' the boat that will take you with magnificent excursions to the beautiful islands of the Venetian lagoon.
