Ola..and Welcome to our Little Oasis on the Costa Calida coastline overlooking the Mar Menor.

My wife Jean, and I had always wanted a 'Place in the Sun' and 13 years ago an opportunity arose for us to see that wish through, with the purchase of Miradores del Puerto, followed 2 years later by Marinesco 2.

We immediately were attracted to the area by the convenience of a 2.5 hour flight, the cosiness of landing at a small but very efficient airport at San Javier - and more importantly the apartment, its positioning and the surroundings, it just felt right.

We have tried to make each of our place's a 'home from home' thinking about what would be the perfect place to stay in if we were having a break abroad - and hopefully over the years of us owning them, we would like to think we have done so.

What makes this apartment unique

Its was the thought of waking up each morning with that sun shining - opening up the double sliding doors/windows on any of the rooms, and walking out onto the full length balcony and thinking...'This is the life' looking out over the pools and the landscaped gardens.

Shower, dressed for the sunshine and 5 minutes later, your on a beach with miles of golden sand looking out to the Med or the cosiness and privacy of the Mar Menor and its shallow warm waters.

Great Apartment

This apartment is ideally situated under 5 minutes from The Mar Menor, there are several restaurants and bars within a 10 minute walk. The supermarket (SuperCor) is just round the corner. The apartment has everything you need and is clean and comfortable.

Owner's Response: Thank you D, a "spot on" review which tells everyone who reads it exactly what an ideal place the area of Tomas Mastre Marina is and what it has to offer, complimented by great accommodation. I am sure D will not mind us mentioning, but within 24 hours of their break ending I was pleased to block off not 1, but 2 more return dates already for 2018. A great recommendation in itself and a wise move as the apartment is already starting to fill for next year - Thank you, it really is appreciated.

As usual it was fantastic

Firstly this is our third year in a row and next year is already booked at least once. Mike and Jeans apartment is set in a great location all set for anything you want to do, sit by the pool, the beach is on the doorstep and with decent shops around and only a short bus ride from Cabo De Palos and Cartagena.

The apartment has all you could ask for and from Mike and Jean and their team in Mar Menor they go out of the way to ensure you have the best of time and are relaxed through.

It really is a great testimony when one has guests coming back year after year and booking 12 months out, not only because of the wonderful "chilled out" feel of the area but because we listen year after year to our guests and their needs, maintaining and improving the apartment facilities. The properties position, price range and service on offer prior to departure, during the break and follow up is second to none - and now we are wanting to share this with even more who wish to experience a truly relaxing time. Especially those thinking of spending longer than the norm there, i.e. 1 month plus as we offer an incredible 33%+ off the standard rates in November and December of this year and any time up to April in 2018, of which we have already had forthcoming guests take advantage of this incredible valued offer going into 2018. Once again we look forward to welcoming enquiries about this and of course we look forward to welcoming Stewart & Sharon back in 2018.

We had a wonderful, stress free holiday in this apartment. It was extremely well equipped. We couldn't find any fault at all. The pool and grounds are very well kept. My grandsons spent every day in the fabulous pool. The weather was very hot so unfortunately we didn't visit the surrounding area as much as we would have liked but what we saw was lovely. The supermarket is on the doorstep. Very handy. We spent a lot of time in the apartment and the air conditioning was much needed. The apartment was clean and fresh, in fact ideal, just what we needed. It is very close to the marina where there are plenty of dining options. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday.

The area of La Manga del Mar Menor in the region of Murcia, has to be one of the best kept secrets. It has something for everyone and especially for those wanting a relaxing, sun filled experience be it any season of the year - this has to be the place to chill out and recharge the batteries, yet still have plenty to do, see, visit - plus some excellent dining outlets of which most are open at least 46 weeks of the year and several all year round - and the icing on the cake - Our lovely apartment at Marinesco 2, overlooking the pool and wonderful landscaped gardens. If you are wondering what you want to be doing this Autumn/Winter or Spring - wonder no longer and get in touch with us so that I can explain in greater detail. Somos un matrimonio español con dos niñas pequeñas.

Este año es el segundo que alquilamos a Mike y la experiencia ha sido maravillosa como siempre.

Todo muy limpio, bien equipado, tranquilo, la piscina es de lujo y un largo etc de ventajas.

Fantastic location with great accommodation

Mike provided us with detailed instructions and directions before departure which made our journey and arrival at the apartment very easy. The location of the apartment could not have been better with views over the 3 pools and tennis court and just around the corner from a well stocked supermarket. Also being only 5 mins walk from numerous good places to eat and drink added to making this a very relaxing place to stay.

The apartment had everything you could need and was clean and comfortable and the welcome pack of groceries a pleasant addition.

Mike was readily contactable and always keen to see if there was anything that he or the local contact John could do for us. Our only minor issue was one of the two air conditioning units not being fully operational but Mike had this in hand to resolve.

We could not wait to recommend the apartment and location to family and friends for a break in the sun and suggest you book now as it has high occupancy levels for a good reason......Enjoy!

We look upon the apartment at Marinesco 2 not just as rental property but as our own home and what we would want from somewhere if we were living there - be it for one/two weeks or as we have been fortunate enough over several years - long term Winter/Spring lets who continue to make use of the apartment. I do hope that not only yourself but your friend and family will take the opportunity to sample our "Place in the Sun" be it again or for the first time. Solitary Confinement

Very Large comfortable 2 bed/2 bath. apt. Very Comfortable.

Everything is, as the owner Mike describes about the area is probably correct, if you go in the spring/summer.

No complaints about the apartment.

We came Feb '16 .........nothing opened...not one solitary thing except the supermarket.

The Marina with some nice looking shack restaurants...all closed!!!

The length of the strip (18 km) with more eating and drinking joints...closed!!!

If considering going winter eg. Oct. - Mar. be prepared to drive long distances to get anywhere open to eat, drink or see other humans (better not drink and drive) 18 km. to the start of the strip every time for the few open places not worth rating. Burger King !!!

If you like your own company, this is a great place to spend your winter break .

I must emphasise that the apartment is really great though, with all the comforts of home.

I have been in solitary confinement before and never thought I would repeat the experience especially as I haven't done anything wrong.

We were one of two apartments occupied. About 400 in all.

The owner Mike is so helpful and amiable on the phone, and with his informative emails (thank you Mike) although his manager John needs a few lessons in manners.

Our 'pre-arranged' welcome point was ignored and after waiting in a car park for an hour we called by phone to be told to make our own way to the apartment, 18 km away!!!!! It's nice to be told!

Very stressful experience after a 6 hr drive.

Also, having a key holder (very nice helpful people I may add) enter the premises for repairs when we were out was invasive and rude. The safe still doesn't work.

An email does not suffice.....seeing as we were miles away looking for somewhere open.

There is an underground garage reserved for the apartment right beside the lift.. BRILLIANT.... rudely parked in by the only two other occupants.

They never expected a very agitated Irishman to lay in wait for them in the dark beside their nice new shiny undamaged car. Best to keep it that way!

After that, it never happened again and they were very nice to avoid me for the duration of our stay.

There is a whole world of places to visit for winter sun, food, scenery, and socialising...this isn't one.

18 km !!!

Owner's Response: We really appreciate our guests feedback, as without this we would not be in a position to either maintain or improve on their experience. I am so pleased the apartment was to their liking as we have spent a considerable amount of time making sure it is "Home from Home" with as many comforts in there as you would expect in your own home - and sincere apologies for the safe being locked by the previous occupant, even though there are instructions on the safe asking for it to be left open to ensure who so ever is following in to the apartment can make full use of this facility. I have also passed onto our Management company your comments and I am sure John meant no offence in asking you to meet up with our back up team with keys at the apartment - there had been sudden fatality within the family and I know this will have been the first time in the 6 years of making use of MMPS they would have let a guest down. Yes it is very quite, we cannot guarantee restaurants to be open in the Winter period as pointed out in our introduction letter, and in all honesty this is the perfect place for long term lets from November through to March/April, as there is not as much demand or need to dine out every night, and one treats the experience as being at home, making full use of the apartment facilities, Separate full kitchen, great fresh produce from the modern supermarket 2 minutes away, full UK TV facilities including all the Sports Channels and a Film Library offering 690 films updated every month - plus if required full heating - warm air and underfloor in every room. I really do hope our guests will return as many do year on year and sample the other seasons, hospitality and great facilities of the Mar Menor.

The La Manga Strip is 22Km of land which juts out from the Costa Calida coast and creates the South west surround of the Mar Menor (Little Sea). With in the province of Murcia, it boasts 322 days of sunshine a year, and therefore one of the mildest climates of Spain. This has resulted in the name Coast Calida - 'The Warm Coast'.

The strip at its narrowest point is 100 metres wide and at its widest is 1.5km, with 44km of beaches, the protected bays and coves are on he Mar Menor side with the water boasting temperatures of approximately +4 degrees higher than its counter part, The Mediterranean - with the marina being some 18km along the strip.

Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca and Caravaca dela Cruz present most of the history in the region, with Murcia being the home to the 600 year old Santa Maria Cathedral - the highest in Spain. Cartagena is an exceptionally beautiful city with Roman and Byzantine battlements visible to the public and walking tours can be arranged if requested.

* Confirmation will be accepted with a £100 per booking non-refundable deposit.
* Standard Check Out Time is 10.00 am, the day of departure - However, should a "Late Check Out" be required due to Flight Times the apartment can be yours for the Full Day of Departure for just an additional payment of £30 (If available) - please let us know when making the provisional booking and completing the Booking Confirmation Form.
* Final payments must be received 40 Days prior to arrival at the apartment.
* Should the booking date fall within the 40 Days of departure - full payment must be made at the time of booking
* The above prices include: Pre-clean, Welcome Pack, Sat & UK TV, iPod Docking Station, Linen & Towels, Air Conditioning & Wifi

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
