What a beautiful spot! Spacious bright inviting home that makes feel like you never want to leave!
This property is the most comfortable and warm place we have ever stayed while vacationing in our home province. Tons of space in the house and lots of garden to enjoy, whether you just sit on the beautiful deck and listen to nature all around or use the large garden to play any games you wish. Everything about this property just makes you want to stay, right from the comfortable beds to the bright sun room, it truly was the best part of our vacation in Humber Valley. Only a short distance to Corner Brook. Special Thanks to the owners for making it a very positive experience. 5 stars...highly recommended!!!!
Lovely private home on the river
My family and I stayed a week in this home and had a wonderful time. It is modern, tastefully decorated, with three bedrooms and baths, a great kitchen, family room with WIFI/TV, and a sunroom for getting zen. We spent most nights out on the back deck around the fireplace. Big lawn for impromptu soccer matches. Wildflowers! Hops garden! Forest critters! In late June the Rhododendron was in bloom, just beautiful. Path right down to the river, shallow enough to wade in.
Being from Colorado, we loved how green everything is and all the oxygen down there at sea level. We were lucky to meet Nick who was passing through on a camping trip of his own, what a nice laid back guy, just like so many of the Newfies we met on our trip. You can tell that these owners take pride in their property.
The Humber Valley location of this home is central to many activities on the west coast and is only about 20 minutes from Corner Brook, which from our perspective was perfect. We like to make our lodging our base and cook a lot of our own meals, so the easy access to supermarkets was appreciated. Don't think it is in the suburbs, though, the place is nice and secluded.
While there, we took a drive down the Captain Cook trail and hiked to Cedar Cove, definitely worth it! Had dinner at Madison's, wow, what a terrific meal, and excellent service. Took a tool up to Gros Morne for the Western Brook Pond tour and ate moose burgers in Cow Head. Gros Morne is about 45 minutes from the house on a well-maintained, scenic road. The younger generation went ziplining, American Gladiator style, at Marble Mountain in Steady Brook. Went cod jigging up in Cox's cove, caught a bunch. On our last day we drove to Trout River, checked out the Tablelands and had another incredible meal at the Seaside restaurant, including home made rhubarb pie. A good time was had by all.
Nick and Katie, thanks again for your hospitality. We definitely recommend this property if you're planning a West Coast NL vacation.
Great house in an idyllic setting
I stayed here over a long weekend and really enjoyed the house. It's spacious and privately set right along the beautiful River. The property is huge with a big deck out back and a great fire pit that was fantastic at night. The owners were really helpful and very communicative. I would definitely come back. Thanks Nick!
