Newly refurbished, luxury holiday home 5 minutes from a wonderful sandy beach

Bedrooms 7
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 7 nights

About the property

Wonderful spacious holiday with sea views and 7 bedrooms and a great hot tub.

Hilltop is a luxurious holiday let which sleeps up to 16 plus travel cots located just a few minutes’ walk away from a wonderful clean sandy beach at Mundesley on the North Norfolk Coast.

The imposing Edwardian villa was built in 1907 for Sir William Brampton Gurdon the MP for North Norfolk and until recently has been a very well loved family home – which you feel as you walk in! We have extensively refurbished the house so it is now a spacious holiday home for up to 16 (two beds are bunks in a family room) with space for travel cots.

Hilltop is conveniently located not only a few minutes’ walk to the beach but also a short walk from the quaint village where you will find a Post Office, Corner Stores, Fish and Chip shop and Pub.

The beach at Mundesley is considered one of Norfolk's finest - long and sandy with safe swimming at low tide and all the amenities and charm of a popular seaside resort. The beach is backed by a promenade lined with colourful beach huts and a popular Beach Café.

We have parking for up to 8 cars but the close proximity to the village and beach means you can have a car free holiday, especially if you book an online supermarket shop to arrive when you do.

As the name suggests the house sits at the top of a ‘hill’, albeit given it’s in Norfolk the hill is not really a hill but the slight elevation does mean the house has lovely sea views from the first and second floors.

The house is large enough to easily accommodate everyone. We have purposely retained the individual reception rooms to provide cosy spaces to catch up or read a book or watch something different on the TV or just sit in with a glass of wine or cup of tea, without feeling you have to do everything together. The kids are well catered for both inside in a Kid’s Den and out in the large garden, so you can hopefully get some time to yourselves to relax and enjoy the Hot Tub.

We also welcome up to 4 well behaved dogs.

In creating Hilltop we have built on the experience of owning Loke House, a very popular holiday let in Cley-next-the Sea Like Loke House we love it and hope you will too!

A warm welcome awaits you – including a large homemade cake – please let Sarah know if you require a gluten free version.

We have created a stylish get relax feel to the house and have used a coastal theme to decorate with co-ordinating soft-furnishings and accessories.

We have used the same beds we use at our other holiday let property as guests constantly tell us how comfortable they are. Each bed is made prior to your arrival using Egyptian cotton bedding with hypoallergenic duck down duvets and pillows. We do have a few spare man-made duvets and pillows should you prefer. You will find plenty of white fluffy towels for use in the bathrooms and separate hot hub towels – just bring your own beach towels and cot bedding.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are found on the second and first floors:

First Floor

2 en-suite rooms with king size beds and power showers – 1 of which have sea views

A family room with a king bed which can be made into two single beds along with a set of adult sized bunk beds which can be curtained off from the main bedroom, with a sea view

1 twin room adjacent to the family bathroom with a roll top bath with a power shower over the bath

Second Floor

A double room with a king size bed and a sea view

A double room with either a king size bed or two singles

A twin bedded room – great for little ones as restricted height in places

A family shower room with a power shower

Ground Floor

On the ground floor you will find two large comfortable sitting rooms both with 40” flat screen smart TVs above the lovely open fires. Both sitting rooms lead off the dining room with a bespoke dining table and chairs sitting 16 guests.

The kitchen is very well equipped with a large 1m wide oven, gas hob, combination microwave, American fridge freezer, large larder fridge, 2 dishwashers, a washer dryer, a Nespresso machine, 2 slow cookers, a breakfast bar with a couple of stalls and a wide selection crockery and glassware for 16. Of course you will find all the cooking utensils and pans needed to cook a gourmet meal or BBQ on the terrace using the 4 ring gas BBQ. We have even supplied a few cookery book in case you are stuck for inspiration and plastic champagne wine glasses for the Hot Tub.

You will also find the ‘Kids Den’ just off the kitchen – our 9 year son was responsible for equipping this room! Not only will you find another smart TV and bean bags for chilling but also a variety of toys and games for a range of ages. Stair gates and 2 high chairs are also provided along with plastic plates, cups and cutlery. One travel cot is available but please bring your own cot linen.

Perfect property with all you need in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We hired this house for a long family weekend away. The layout of the house is great with a good ratio of bathroom to bedroom. It has a lovely big kitchen with all utensils you could need. The house has a really nice big dining room plus 2 ample size lounges. There was a nice hot tub in a nice wooden summer house. There is a nice garden and patio area that would be great in the summer (was to cold where we were there to take full advantage of the garden but the dogs loved it). Only a short strole to the local pub beach and village center. It is a really nice village. Definitely would be happy to go back.
