About the property

A great family property close to everything!

Fabulous en-suite rooftop (2nd floor) master bedroom (double bed), with access to the solarium, a second bedroom on the first floor (2 x singles) with a family bathroom (bath and shower), plus a very comfortable double sofa bed in the lounge area if you need it, this is a great place to be as a family!

The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, and fridge freezer. In the utility room, you can find both a washing machine and a dishwasher to make things easy, and there's a high chair for the smallest member of the family should you need one, plus an iron and ironing board can also be found in the apartment.

The apartment has a huge dining table allowing everyone to sit together, or if you prefer, you can all eat on the solarium, where you can also barbecue with ease. Catching up with the soaps or just channel hopping, the lounge has a large flat screen TV in front of a comfortable sofa. It's linked to the Freesat service, so you will have plenty of choices if you fancy a night in! There is also a TV in the master bedroom linked to Freesat.

We provide free wi-fi for you all to stay connected, and we have aircon in both bedrooms and in the lounge. To get you started, we give you €15 worth of free aircon in your price for each full week you stay, but if you want extra that's not a problem - you can purchase more as and when you might need it, but we think you should have enough for a weeks stay.

The apartment complex has beautifully maintained gardens, both a children's and adult pool (with a lifeguard during the summer months), and plenty of space to either sunbathe by the pool or on the private solarium of the apartment. A 6 minute flat and easy walk to the 525 Plaza of Los Alcazares where you will find lots of bars and restaurants, and a further 4 minutes to the fantastic beaches of the Mar Menor, this apartment is in a great location. There's also a Supermercado on the plaza, and a Lidl and a Consum supermarket within 6 minutes walk of the apartment too.

Los Alcazares is a little gem. Its beaches are awarded the EU blue flag for cleanliness, and you can walk for around 7km from one end to the other along the shoreline promenade. There are bars and cafes dotted all along the route so you'll never get thirsty or hungry!! In the evenings, there are dozens of great restaurants and bars both in and around the 525 Plaza and in the old town. Hop on the little road train -El Habanero Tren Turistico in the summer months (May to September) and you can ride from the 525 Plaza right up to the old town and back again for a few Euros. For those who want an extended night out you can find several nightclubs and bars that open late all around Los Alcazares, but they don't spoil it for those that want an early night, so LA caters for everyone.

Los Alcazares is an all year round place to visit. There are a number of Festivals you can come to - Three Kings in January, Easter, Semana Internacional de la Huerta y el Mar - the festival of the orchards and the sea in August, and a large festival held in late October - El Caldero. These are really Spanish and well worth visiting. Cartagena holds an annual Jazz festival in November and has been doing so for more than 35 years. Los Alcazares holds markets on Tuesdays and Saturdays and you should visit whilst you are here.

Outdoor activities are plentiful - tennis, paddle tennis, windsurfing, kite surfing, paddle boarding, cycling (bikes can be hired in the town), walking, you can do all of these things here in Los Alcazares. We mustn't forget the golf - there are some world famous and spectacular courses very close to Los Alcazares. Las Colinas has just been voted Spains best Golf and Country Club, and all the golfers will recognise the name of La Manga, which is 20 minutes drive away. Closer courses can be found at Roda and Serena within the surrounding countryside of Los Alcazares. Within 3 hours you can be in the mountains skiing.

If shopping is your thing, La Zenia Boulevard is just a 15-minute drive back towards Alicante, which is Europes largest outdoor shopping mall. South for a 15 minutes drive is Cartagena. A Roman city full of culture and sophistication - visit the amphitheatre and the many beautiful streets!! If you fancy a bath for the complexion, the northern part of the Mar Menor is world famous for its high nutrient content mud - lots of people visit and it's an hilarious day out - and only 10 minutes up the coast from Los Alcazares!

So do I need a car? Absolutely not, there is plenty you can do without one. However, if you do hire one from the airports of Alicante or Murcia, it will extend your range to the countryside or coastline further afield, but not essential and everywhere is free parking within the resort.

Los Alcazares ( and the apartment) is just 5 minutes by taxi from Murcia airport where Jet 2, Easy Jet and Ryanair all fly into from many Uk International and Regional airports. Alicante airport is an easy 50-minute drive on the AP7 where all the above airlines fly into, plus many more from other European countries such as Holland, Belgium, Denmark, and Scandinavia. This is a really cosmopolitan area, and it's a place everyone enjoys and returns to year after year. We can arrange airport transfers and collections from both Alicante and Murcia, so when enquiring please ask for more details.

We make a small charge for cleaning and preparing your accommodation of £75, and Homeaway take a small damage deposit of £100 returnable 7 days after your last nights stay.

About The Owner

MJH Properties was formed in 2017 by my family. We wanted to create luxury holiday homes that people would love to come back to year after year. Finding the right location to do this took a lot of time and effort, but we think we have found just the place to start our business. This property is one of 2 we run in Los Alcazares, the second being a villa with its own private heated pool. It's a different vibe than Albatros, and is for 2 adults and 2 children, but is a similar distance to the amenities in a residential area. This is also listed on HomeAway (ID number 8448638); please check it out if Albatros is not available or you would like something more cosy.

Why The Owner chose Los Alcázares

The Albatros complex is in a brilliant location. 6 minutes flat walk from the 525 Plaza, and just a further 4 minutes to the beach makes it just the right distance from the bars and restaurants not to be disturbed by their activity, but not too far to walk, and after a busy day on the beach it's just far enough to walk to get the family back without getting too tired.

The pool area is really attractive, and the complex has some beautifully tended gardens and surroundings. During the summer we have a lifeguard attending the pool, which we felt was perfect for visitors.

This property is great for families to use, and because it sleeps 6 we think that its perfect for grandparents to come along too. The solarium is private and the apartment feels spacious as it's on 2 floors.

Beautiful apartment which exceeded expectations

The apartment is spacious, beautifully finished and equipped with everything you would need and more. The owners have clearly put a lot of time, love and thought into it. The complex is immaculately kept, and is really private and secure. We used the communal pool a few times and it was also pristine!

It's just a short walk to a couple of supermarkets, the beach (amazingly warm and clear even in May!!) And so many restaurants to choose from!

We used the property manager for our transfer and it couldn't have been easier- they were waiting for us at arrivals and took us straight to the door (additional cost, but very reasonable price!).

We had such an amazing stay and can't recommend enough!!! Can't wait to re-book the apartment again!

Fantastic holiday

We have just spent a week in this newly renovated apartment and had a fantastic time.

The apartment has been renovated to a high standard and looks stunning. It has a widescreen tv in the very comfortable lounge area and wifi.

The kitchen is very well equipped for all your catering needs and also has a washing machine and dishwasher in the utility area.

The apartment has air conditioning that can also be used for heating if required.Both bedrooms are very comfortable (the beds are extremely comfortable ) and the master bedroom has a wall mounted tv (this alleviates any arguing over the channels).

The large roof terrace is amazing for some peaceful sunbathing if you don't want to venture out to the pool or beach. It's also great for drying your washing😀

There is a large supermarket about a 10 minute walk away, where everything is reasonably priced. There are also many restaurants within a 10 minute walk that cater for all tastes.

There a is a market held on a Saturday and Tuesday great for purchasing fresh locally grown produce or some Spanish bargains.

A great time was has by all. We will definitely be returning😄

Lovely stylish apartment. Excellent facilities

Helen and Mark were really accommodating and met with a smile and explained all the information about the Albatros and the surrounding area. They gave us tips on where to eat and the steaks at Little Sicily were to gorgeous and recommended Encarnation (a hotel on the seafront) which does great breakfasts with lovely terrace and friendly staff. They really helped make our holiday one of the most enjoyable times we have had in Spain.

The apartment is situated in a lovely gated complex called Albatros. The grounds are beautifully kept with a large communal swimming pool (the water was fresh and invigorating once you got in!).

The apartment is perfectly situated just round the corner from the pool and the main gates. There is an enclosed balcony which was great for sitting in the afternoon sunshine and also enjoying breakfast watching the world go by.

The apartment itself was stylishly decorated and exceptionally clean. We had everything we needed for our stay with a fully equipped kitchen. washing mashing, dishwasher and comfortable sofa (which also converted into a double bed if needed).

There was Wi-Fi and UK TV along with aircon throughout the apartment and the bedrooms.

The bedrooms were nicely furnished with plush bedding and very comfortable beds.

The sun terrace was beautiful with views right over to the Mar Menor as well as having a table and sun beds. Its sheltered and private up there too so even if it was a bit windy, you could still sunbath!!

All in all, we would highly recommend this apartment and the surrounding area, five star and we will be back soon!
