Beautiful cottage in rural setting, suitable for two couples, or small families.
This is a traditional, old Cornish miner's cottage within the beautiful, rural hamlet of Cripplesease, with extensive views over rolling countryside. It is perfectly located for the south west, being just 3 miles from St Ives and 4 miles from Penzance. An ideal base for walkers, surfers and cyclists or anyone wanting to get away from it all. It's just 2 minutes walk to the great local pub, the Engine Inn. The detached cottage sits in it's own lawned gardens, one of which is gated. There is easy access to the road that goes to St Ives and Penzance.

Traditional ales, and good food are served in the Engine Inn, a very short walk away. Beyond the pub lies Gew Mine sitting on the hill top.
Fairhaven is on a local bus route. Alternatively, you can walk cross country to Halsetown, where there is a good pub, in approximately 45 minutes. If one walks on for a further 45 minutes you arrive in the beautiful fishing village of St Ives.
There is parking for two (plus) cars at the property.
Both gardens are level and one of them, being gated, is suitable for children. Both gardens have a decking area with table and chairs for catching the sun throughout the whole day.

There is a well equipped fitted kitchen with a double oven, ceramic hob and a fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The dinning table for six is situated in this spacious, open plan area that looks out onto the beautiful rural views from the sun lounge.
The Sun Lounge

Why John chose Nancledra
Ideal for getting away from it all but with the option to dip in or out of very popular St Ives, and other nearby delightful towns, villages and lovely "hideaways". Great location for walking, cycling and sightseeing from the house or to travel further afield. Postion suits surfers as only short distances from surf breaks on both coasts, (covering most wind & swell conditions). St Ives is a short (drive or bus ride) distance away, with galleries, shops, beaches plus festivals (September festival, music, beer festivals to name but a few.Lastly but not least are the ever popular Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Lovely, homely and comfortable cottage with awesome views!
We had a such a great stay here. John was very welcoming and spent time to show us about the cottage but also gave us plenty of tips about what's around and about in the local area. The cottage had everything we needed for a family of four including a lovely garden that the kids could run around in. The views from the various rooms are just amazing! And with the pub just within a stone's throw, it was the perfect location.

Fairhaven is a very relaxing and charming cottage. We (4 adults, 2 little kids, Cornwall novices) had a very pleasent stay. We moved around walking, public transportation ("1 week family pass") and taxis: we didn´t miss a car. John is a charming and extraordinary helpful host! It was the right choice for us, very likely to repeat the exerience! Thank you again, John!
Sebastian and crew were a delight to have staying at Fairhaven.
I have thanked them for leaving the house so clean and tidy especially as they had a very early start with young children.
It would be a pleasure to have them all back again.
As a Cornishman it was great to see a family enjoying Cornwall for its natural beauty.
