The Fairways at Mauna Lani is a privately-gated development located in the prestigious Mauna Lani Resort located on the sunny Kohala Coast of the Big Island. Enjoy golf at a 30% discount on the world-renowned championship Frances H. I'i Brown North and South Golf Courses. The Mauna Lani Racquet Club has three of the six courts lighted for cooler evening play. Work out at the Spa and Sports Fitness Club or take many of the classes they offer. The pool has lanes for swimming laps. Mauna Lani also has a private gated Beach Club at no extra charge with a restaurant. You can also relax at the free-form pool with baby area, waterfall and Jacuzzi right at the Fairways Town home at no charge. There is a full workout facility on property at no charge for your convenience.
The town home is located on the Fourth Fairway of the North Course and has been beautifully decorated by an interior designer. Enjoy the sunsets from the two covered lanais. The living and dining room areas are spacious and there is seating for eight at the dining room table with three additional bar stools. In addition to the King bed in the Master Suite and the guest bedroom that has two XL Twin Beds that can be converted to a King Bed we have also supplied you with two twin airbeds, 19 inches in height (linens and pillows included) to accommodate extra guests. There is room in the master bedroom for their use. The gas barbecue and wet bar is on the lanai.
It is 700 yards to the beautiful Fairmont Orchid Hotel which has public beach access to a beautiful white sand beach, water sports, and exquisite dining. The Mauna Lani Resort has eight restaurants and five lounges with live Hawaiian music almost nightly. The shopping center includes Tommy Bahama's Restaurant, Ruth Chris's Steak House, Sushi Restaurant, a French Bistro, a Vegan restaurant, and a Coffee and Juice Bar. Recently opened is a Snorkel Bob's where you can rent equipment for the week for $9 - $35 /week. Enjoy the self-guided walking tour, featuring archaeological sites with petroglyphs, historic park land, and the Kalahuipuaa Fishponds. Other nearby resort hotels include Mauna Lani Resort and Bungalows, Hapuna Prince Hotel, Mauna Kea Resort, and the Hilton Waikoloa where you can swim with the dolphins. It is a eight minute drive to Hapuna Beach which has the best bodysurfing and boogie-boarding on the island.

I have had a love of the Hawaiian Islands since the 1970's when I moved to Lahaina, Maui for a 9 month stay. Dave and I chose the Big Island because it is more low key and less crowded than Maui. We chose Mauna Lani because of the incredible amenities available to us and our guests. We love the two spectacular golf courses, the tennis center, homeowners beach with fabulous snorkeling, and the beautiful walks. We also found so many white sand beaches to choose from in close proximity to our town home. We have found our Heaven!!

We chose the Fairways at Mauna Lani because of the proximity to the beautiful Fairmont Orchid, the spacious floor plan, the golf course view, the quiet surroundings, and the spectacular grounds. I have seen all the other town homes complexes and I would not move anywhere because the Fairways is the best.
We enjoy the discounted golf, Kayaking and Stand Up Paddle Boarding in the beautiful blue waters, swimming laps in our pool, and using the great gym on our property. This is our second home so we have furnished it beautifully and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. We have added a screen door on the front door so that it can be left open and the back slider can be open to get the wonderful cross breeze. Air conditioning isn't even necessary most of the time with the screen doors. It is so much more comfortable than the air conditioning. I love our view of the golf course and the lava in between. It is so unique and beautiful.
Lovely Hawaiian home- couldn't and wouldn't do it any better in furnishings & extras. Homeowners beach is awesome & the snorkeling was fantastic. Drove to Captain Cook's Bay, dolphins swam with us in the kayak (rent them right there)& tons of fish! Great walking out the door to beach path either direction. Want to come back ASAP.
This was the best experience we have ever had with renting vacation homes! We loved the place, it was FANTASTIC - it had everything we could ever wish for, and was awesome for the children too....very child friendly, with hi chair and crib. We used the pool and facilities a little, particularly enjoyed the private beach nearby...can't write highly enough about this place.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It seemed to have everything we needed. It has great views and is set in a really nice community. I would stay here again for sure.

* The townhouse is at Kohala coast. It is about 30 minutes to Kona where most of the restaurants are, the location is not ideal for us
* There is no door between the master bedroom and ensuite

Gail and Dave's place is clean, spacious and quiet, with a very well appointed household and bonus beach supplies, coolers etc.
Enjoyed the private lanai's and BBQ.
Great location, close to Kohala beaches/activities or just for a walk or run in Mani Lani.
The Fairways offers well maintained and landscaped grounds, pool and a small, but functional fitness room.
Mani lani beach resort is great; really good snorkeling or just relaxing on the beach. Check-out the fisherman's trail to Waikoloa resort.
Definitely worth a visit.

Staying at Gail and Dave's Fairways condo was a fabulous experience. The unit was beautifully decorated, clean, spacious and equipped with everything you'd need for a tropical vacation. Not only did their garage come stocked with all beach necessities, but it was nice to store things like our SUP, golf clubs, bikes, etc. The view from the two lanais were beautiful, private and PEACEFUL!!! The Mauna Lani Beach Club and Restaurant provided hours of entertainment/relaxation. The sunsets were amazing and the snorkeling was incredible with very calm water and lots to see! The close proximity of restaurants like Tommy Bahama (great happy hours and music), shops, the grocery store and golf were perfect for out stay. The entire Mauna Lani resort area was quiet and provided lots of space (w minimal traffic) for walking, running and biking. We would highly recommend this unit and can't wait to return for our next stay:)
We just got back from our third stay in Gail & Dave's beautiful Fairways condo, and once again, we wished we never had to leave! The kids, ages 3 and 7, loved having their own beds (the change to two twin beds in the second bedroom was a win for us!). The condo is clean, nicely appointed, and well-located, with everything you need in the kitchen, all the beach stuff in the garage, and several different spaces for family hangouts -- it was beyond wonderful to have breakfast together out on the lanai every morning. We went to the beach club every day (the kids stayed more or less on California time the whole two weeks, which meant we always had our choice of the cabanas -- ha!), and grilled on the awesome Viking range outdoors most nights. I recommend this condo to everyone I know (although I hope I don't generate *too* much demand, so we can still have "our" place again each summer!). Mahalo, Gail and Dave, for the Aloha!
The Big Island has so many things to do it is hard to tell it all. The Kohala Coast has the best weather and the best beaches anywhere. The walks from our house are spectacular with a special Petroglyph walk that you can take young children or older people.
Zip lining is about 45 minutes away in a beautiful area that is lush and in a special area with other things to enjoy while you are there.
There are numerous hikes that are worth the time and effort and I can tell you more about those if you are interested.
You can swim with the dolphins at the Hilton in Waikola or you can go on a boat where they will most likely find dolphins to swim with in the open ocean.
The Beach Club is great for young kids to play in the water because there are no waves. It is the best snorkeling, and the Bay is good for learning Stand Up Paddle Boarding. You can go scuba diving with a great company right from the club. There is also a catamaran that goes out on different excursions including a Sunset Cruise or whale watching.
The tennis at Mauna Lani or at Mauna Kea is very good and they will help to put matches together for you.
Golf at Mauna Lani is my favorite anywhere. My son has played the best courses in Arizona and Tahoe and his favorites are by far and away Mauna Lani!
Horse back riding is available in Waimea.
There are so many more things to do that you will just have to call me to talk about them.
