Luxury 2 bedroom, 17th century property in quiet central town location

This recently restored apartment, formerly a school, dates back to the 17th century. It forms one corner of a hidden town centre courtyard garden, of which visitors have the use of a small outside terrace.

The accommodation consists of two double bedrooms (one of which may be configured as two single beds if required), large open plan sitting room with wood burning stove and bathroom.

There is off-street parking available for one car. Coxwell Street is one of the oldest streets in Cirencester, right in the town centre but remarkably quiet and peaceful.

Access: Access is via a flight of stairs - this may be a consideration for some people. The accommodation consists of two double bedrooms (one of which may be configured as two single beds if required), large open plan sitting room with wood burning stove and bathroom. There is off-street parking available for one car.

Bedrooms: The pictures here show both bedrooms as doubles however Bedroom 2 can be configured as two single beds if required - we require notice to change the beds.

Pretty Perfect

I had been eyeing Neil's Cirencester rental on VRBO for two years. I kept a tab of the property open on my computer and regularly flipped through the photos, admiring the warm and cozy-looking kitchen, the rakish angles of the walls, and the winter snow on Coxwell Road. Pathetic. I was really into the place and after saving up enough money to return for another trip to GB, I pounced on the rental. I'm here to tell you the photos do not lie. This apartment is more beautiful in person than I could have hoped for. The modern, soft, paint colors play against the antique, wood beams and foot-thick window casings. The bathroom is bespoke, with heated floors, and a fog-free mirror. The kitchen is equipped to whip up beef bourguignon (don't do it- there are too many good restaurants in Cirencester;;) and the bed linen is top notch. Seriously, there isn't a stitch of the IKEA crap I have at home. This being my family's third trip to The Cotswolds (I have a bit of an obsession with the area, and the cows and sheep that live here) we found Cirencester to be the best base. It's perfect because you can go out all day and return home to eat and drink at wonderful, local establishments. We gorged ourselves at The Hare, Toro Lounge, and a few local Indian restaurants. We also enjoyed the feeling of being in a working town, where people were rushing to jobs, the market, and church, and drinking in the pubs. This is a real town, not just a tourist attraction. My husband, and two teenaged daughters and I loved every moment on Coxwell Road. Thank you for your pride of ownership, Neil. You were once a VRBO dream on the page, that became fully realized. I can't always say that. All the best!

Beautiful apartment - exceeded expectations

We stayed at Cowell Court for a week in July 2017 and were absolutely delighted with the apartment and Cirencester. The apartment is very tastefully decorated and furnished and the furnishings are of a high quality. The kitchen area is very well equipped - we ate in a few nights and wanted for nothing. The open plan lounge/diner/kitchen is a very god size and the valued ceiling is wonderful - such a sense of space. The building is just beautiful, graceful and tranquil. The outside space is a bonus - the terrace is small but was a welcome relief on a hot day and was more than adequate for the 3 of us to sit outside and enjoy the quiet at the end of a tiring day.

Cirencester is a buzzing town with lots of independent shops as well as a few high street ones - M&S Food, Waterstones, Boots, White Stuff, East, New Look. But the independent shops are lovely and there is a small but very good market on a Friday (other days too I think). The Brewery Art Quarter is well worth a visit and their coffee shop is excellent. I did enjoy Jack's on Black Jack Street too - scrumptious cakes!. We visited The British Motor Museum at Gaydon - north Cotswolds near Warwick - well worth a visit to see all the Jaguars and lots more too; Blenheim Palace wonderful - with a side visit to Woodstock (recommend Loft for ladies' shopping); Oxford - too too busy! Moreton in the Marsh and Tetbury both lovely towns. So many places to see in the Cotswolds we couldn't do justice to it.

But we loved the apartment and Cirencester so much we have booked to go back again next year. Neil was a perfect host - bubbly and chocolate on arrival helped! Correspondence was always prompt and all instructions very comprehensive. Can't recommend this place enough!

Perfect apartment for a stay in the Cotswolds!

The flat is the perfect base to discover the Cotswolds. It is ideally located on a quiet street just a short walk from the city center and all the shops and restaurants. It is cozy and clean and very well equipped. It perfectly suited the needs of our family of four. Neil was the perfect host. He kindly and promptly answered all our queries. The information he provided ahead of our arrival was also clear and detailed. We highly recommend.

Lovely apartment for exploring the Cotswolds.

This is a very well appointed apartment in Cirencester that is great as a base for exploring the Cotswolds. The host, Neil, was very helpful and ensured that everything was spick and span for our stay. We really enjoyed our time here and would recommend it highly.
