Palma di Montechiaro has become famous in the world with the success of the novel "Il Gattopardo".
In this place we intertwine history of spirituality and art.
The first dwelling of the Tomasi in Palma is the Doge's Palace which in 1659 was transformed into Benedictine Monastery to welcome the daughters and the wife of the Duke. It is on a semicircular and impervious stairway, in a square square with the roads that cross the place that was once marked by the cross column.
It was inaugurated on June 12, 1659. The Monastery has a simple appearance with windows without decorations. On the inner courtyard, however, they have windows decorated in a Baroque style. From the inside of the parlor there is access to a tree-lined garden where there is a sculpture of Our Lady with St. Benedict. The Sisters also guard the Madonna della Ducale Rosata.
