This accommodation is first class. The house is furnished and equipped to a high standard. Everything is provided, including an internet link and central heating if you need it.
We stayed in the villa for a fortnight in the spring when everything was still green and there were flowers everywhere. The house is situated in an area of low density housing - you are in a community but there are fields between the houses. Don’t come here if you want total solitude but do if you want to get a feel for Greek day to day living. It may have been because it was spring, but the diversity of birdsong around the house was particularly beautiful, especially at night with the nightingales.
There is a decent supermarket close by that should supply you with all that you will need.
The island of Evia provides lots to see. Many parts are beautiful and it is surprising that it hasn’t attracted more foreign tourists. Take your pick from attractive mountains or coastal scenery. You can explore the whole island from Villa Katerina and if you want a change, Athens and some other mainland attractions such as Delphi are reachable in a day as well.
Any trips venturing beyond the main roads will benefit from GPS or some planning unless you are comfortable rapidly reading road signs in the Greek alphabet.
But we must make special mention of the owner of the house, Vaso. She is extremely helpful in all respects. She ensures that some provisions are in the house when you arrive, will advise you on what to do and where to go and is easily reachable during your stay.
We are very grateful to her.
We can unreservedly recommend this villa.
Me and my family stayed to Villa Katerina for 16 days. The owner welcome us with traditional greek sweets and tsipouro, she also told us many things about the area and local beaches. She was sooo cool person, and available to help us every time we need her. The house is really cozy and clean. It's fully equipped! It has a beautiful garden where we had a BBQ several times. The area is quite and peaceful, full of green, you wake up listening the birds singing! We walk and bike several times in the vineyards.
You will definitely need a car though to visit the beaches.
Don't forget to try the local seafood and local cheese pies or something like that.
I'll definitely visit again :)
I can tell you that we all enjoyed our stay very much. It is a wonderful house and surroundings - not to forget the little village Mutikas where we had some very good meals and sweet grapes. It was really nice to assemble my whole family there. Hope very much to come back. We intend to recommend your villas to family and friends! Thanks Vaso, Katerina, Yannis and Murgos!
Greetings from Romania, Stefan!
Owner welcomed us with local wines and various local dishes!
Really friendly, she also made us a google maps with every interesting
location you can find on the Island!
Villa is equipped with everything you will ever need and furnished with really high standards. The garden is really wonderful and quiet.
You will need a car to visit the closest village "Nea Lampakos", a fishing village with wonderful fish taverns. The whole area is surrounded with vineyards but a few of them are open for visit.
The island has wonderful beaches, really intact from the tourism.
Kymh is a must visit place. Just one hour drive from the house, a really wonderful village with ferries that get you to some other Aegean islands such as Skyros, Skopelos and Skiathos.
Really different from any other island we have visited in Greece.
Food is excellent and at an affordable price.
Highly recommended villa, at a really affordable price!
Villa Katerina is just 5 minutes away from Halkida in an area called Mutikas. You can explore with a bicycle the little roads amongst the vineyards. There are beaches in different directions about 15 minutes drive away.
Also there is a Kite and water sports club in the nearby beach. The horse riding club is next door where you you can try riding or drink a refreshment and relax.
Next to the Villa there is one of the most famous wineries in Greece. Here the owners organize Greek nights with 'Mezedakia'small dishes with different kind of Greek food and a taste of different kinds of wine.
Just a step from the Villa it is the Village Lampsakos. There you can find two big supermarkets and a lot of small shops to buy everything you need.
The bakery in the Village has a great variety of bread , cheese pies, spinach pies, hand made sweets and so on.
In a walking distance and by the beach there are a lot of tavernas which are open all day round.
