Situated below the mediaeval village of Radicondoli, this property enjoys an exceptional view over the Chianti hills, taking in the towers of San Gimignano and stretching as far as the Apennines. This self standing villa, surrounded by olives groves and fruit trees, has a nice garden provided with an inviting (11x5x1,60-1,20 m. depth) salt water swimming pool and a panoramic terrace for eating and relaxing in the open air. Internally the house offers cosy rooms, is furnished with great love for details and provided with modern facilities. Accommodation is offered on the ground floor of the house, whilst the first floor is not available for rental and unoccupied ( the property is let as independent villa with the exclusive use of the garden and pool ). Just about 400 m. from the villa and easily reachable on foot is Radicondoli, which offers all essential services (food shops, restaurants, bank, tennis-court, etc.).
ACCOMMODATION:: Ground floor - spacious living/dining room with fire place, kitchen corner with pizza log oven, and access door onto the furnished terrace; 2 double bedrooms each with access door onto the garden, 1 twin bedroom with access door onto the garden, 2 bathrooms each with shower/wc. Laundry room with shower (external access).
The larger town with all kinds of services is Colle Val d’Elsa at approx. 27 km, San Gimignano 35 km, Siena 40 km, Florence 75, Pisa 95 km, whist the beaches of the Tuscan coast are within easy reach, at less than an hour's car journey away.
Pilar y Quim.
P:D: Volví a coger la pelicula "Bajo el sol de la Toscana" para volver a ver el paisaje, todo y que tengo muchas fotos.
The location of the villa is on a hillside just below Randicondoli which you get to via a very steep dirt road. Getting up and down was quite difficult in our car, and walking into town is only suitable for the fit and able.
We were greeted by the owners who were really friendly and very helpful (although no English spoken). The owner maintained the gardens and pool area to a high quality throughout our stay.
The pool area and gardens are fantastic, and the views absolutely beautiful.
The property itself was clean, rustic, and nice enough although a little small for 6 people. The kitchen / living area was OK but very poorly stocked. There were limited pots, pans, and cutlery, for example no sharp cutting knives, no pizza cutter, no serving bowls, no cooking pots to put in the oven, etc. Also there were only just enough plates and cups for one meal at a time. Often properties provide the basics, such as washing up liquid, sugar , and other condiments, but this one didn't. There were no games, cards, books or homely things you often find in other properties.
The bedrooms were nice and had good openings on the garden area.
Overall, a nice small rustic property, fantastic gardens and pool, but lacked the quality and content of other properties that were similarly priced.
From the Etruscan to the Romans to the Renaissance, Tuscany is possibly the greatest repository of art in the world, from extraordinary paintings and sculpture to frescoes and architectural masterpieces.
Tuscany: a row of cypress trees breaking the blue sky on a rolling hilltop. Olive groves and grapevines marching tidily down the side of a slope. Little medieval hill towns gazing down upon a country that has been carefully cultivated. Among the most important monuments to see in Radicondoli we point out here the Collegiata (Collegiate Church), the Pieve di San Simone (Saint Simon Parish), the Convento di San Francesco (Saint Francis Convent) and the Castello di Elci (Elci's Castle). Among the numerous celebrations periodically taking place in Radicondoli we remind here the ancient 'May First Fest' held on May first. The celebrations consists of outdoor walks and a parade of a music band playing and singing all day long.
