Quaint country cottage
We enjoyed our stay at this comfortable cottage. It was the Irish experience that we were hoping for. Mary and John were very pleasant and provided the little things that a made our stay so enjoyable.
Thanks Barbara for your kind comments. It is rewarding for us when our guests appreciate our efforts to try and make the stay at our cottage enjoyable.
Beautiful place and surroundings, warm welcome, lots of space
Here's a place we will remember with a smile. We were welcomed warmly in a very beautiful, comfortable home, Mary and her husband John had generously prepared everything and we felt at home immediately. The kitchen is the heart of the house, and a really nice place to spend time together, but we could also spread out into the different rooms and each get on with our own things for a while, plenty of space, very relaxing. We had some sunny weather and loved the garden amd the flowers and birds too. We went to friendly town Westport, some of us climbed the Croagh Patrick that Sunday and had incredible scenery and met many people; on a different day we had a recommended walk from the house and saw donkeys, cows, bogs and fields, just lovely views. Dunmore offers all you need for a stay of a week, Tuam and Galway are near enough and have lots to offer of course. On our way South we travelled to the Cliffs of Moher, an hour and a half. By the end of our stay we were sorry to leave, we'd had such a good time, the atmosphere is just wonderful, light and friendly and nice. Thank you Mary and John and good luck to you, this is a great cottage. And, people, follow Mary's instructions how to get there, they're very accurate! Come and stay here, it is a lovely place for a true holiday for a family or a small group.
Thank you for leaving such lovely comments Tineke. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience at the cottage.
Don't forget to come back and see us again!
Comfortable, Homey Cottage
Mary met us at the cottage and made us feel very welcome. She showed us around and gave instructions on how to work everything (in addition to leaving a binder with information). After she left, if we had any additional questions Mary responded quickly. The cottage is homey, clean and comfortable. It's less than an hour away from Galway and there is plenty to see in the area on day trips. We highly recommend staying at Mary's cottage!
Home from Home
This beautiful cottage cannot be faulted - it is stepping into a home away from home. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by Mary & her husband who kindly showed us all the important things around the cottage - from the heating, to the TV's, the fires and the lovely range cooker/heater. We loved the range. They had also bought us milk, butter, bread & even an apple pie. What a delight & so very thoughful. The fresh flowers were a lovely touch.
The rooms were all lovely & clean, & decorated to a high standard. The whole cottage is very homely, with lovely extras like toy area for the kids, heaters in the bedrooms and even electric blankets on the beds. A warm & welcome extra as it was quite cold whilst we were there in Ireland. The beds, pillows, duvets & extra throws make your nights peaceful & cosy.
If you have a family or just want the convenience of your own space - look no further this cottage has everything. Outdoor space too - so I can imagine lovely nights out in the garden in the summer. We will be back!
As the cottage is set back from the road it is so very peaceful & private. The cottage is only about a 5 minute drive to the local supermarket, bank & pub, then you have Tuam only 15 mins away & then Galway takes about 1 hour but with little traffic - getting anywhere is so pleasant.
Do not hesitate about booking this cottage - you will not be disappointed. We will most definately be back. Thank you Mary for our stay - we felt very welcomed & at home.
