Why Richard & Angela chose Holetown
We really liked this property because not only is it poolside, but in a traditional chattel style design. The lovely wrap around veranda is perfect for relaxing, chatting and drinking a cool beer - well that's what we do! Our villa is surrounded by beautiful, well cared for tropical gardens and in a well run and small development, which is secure. We were also attracted by our villa's fabulous location. Porters Court enjoys the best of both worlds - within a peaceful and tranquil garden yet just 4 minutes walk from a beautiful sandy beach with bars and restaurants. Lone Star and JuJus are two well known bars and restaurants and are a 5 minute stroll away. You do not need to hire a car as the shops, beaches, bars and restaurants of Holetown are a 5 minute bus ride away. Speightstown is a 10 minute bus ride away. The bus stop - with frequent buses - is a 2 minute walk from Sandy Lodge. We want you to feel as at home as we do and we have furnished and equipped our villa in a contemporary style with quality finishes to make you feel comfortable and relaxed and have all you require for a safe and very enjoyable holiday.
What makes this Villa unique
Not only is our villa in a fabulous location but we feel very fortunate to have a superb, small team of people - Property Manager, Housekeeper, Maintenance man and Gardener - who look after us and who will look after you too! All members of our small team are there to make sure you have a comfortable, relaxing, safe and very happy holiday.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
We had a Great time!
Good location, short walk to the beach. Early June is a slow time. Not many people on the beaches. Was not crowded at all the entire week. The information packet we were sent was very helpful! Hope to come back in the future.
The property was just as described, there was everything you could need to make it feel like home. It was clean and well maintained, we were four adults, there was ample space and it was well equipped. It was a good location to visit all areas of the Island, bus stop near and plenty of restaurants. Pool area and gardens were clean and tidy. We all had a fabulous holiday.
Excellent Barbados rental in great West Coast location (Porters, St James Parish)
First, you cannot beat the location. Easy walk to the the beach. Minutes from Holetown, which has everything you may need (restaurants, groceries, shopping, ATM, etc). Gated rental was nice, clean, quiet, and well pointed (especially kitchen). Worked great for our family of 4, as the king bed could be easily split into two twins. The pool was also a great bonus for the kids, and a relaxing swim in the late afternoon. We enjoyed the complimentary Mt. Gay Rum, along with the bread treat. Tonya gave us a nice welcome upon arrival, along with a review of the villa and amenities, and a few activities to consider during our stay. I recommend this rental, and plan to visit again in the future.
Great villa only 5 minutes from the beach. Best stocked kitchen I have ever stayed at and since we love to eat in it was great. Plenty of covered area to sit outside and enjoy meals and drinks after touring the island or back from the beach. Will stay again on our next trip.
Amazing villa in a beautiful setting
What a wonderful week we had in the beautiful Sandy Lodge! We knew it was going to be good when we received the holiday information guide from the owners a couple of weeks before our arrival, but the villa was beyond all of our expectations.
Sandy Lodge is situated in idyllic beachside setting. It is a 2 mins walk to the most beautiful beach I’ve been to! Plenty of cool bars and restaurants are also just a few mins walk down a little private path.
The villa itself is very well maintained, spacious and beautifully laid out with a wonderful outdoor swimming pool. The beds are very spacious and comfortable, more than enough space to store your luggage and clothes and fully air conditioned. There’s a cute verandah with a BBQ– perfect to grill the catch of the day. It also comes with a complimentary bottle of rum which is always a nice welcome gift!
Angela and Richard were extremely professional, friendly and helpful before and during our stay. They made sure we had the most relaxing holiday and helped us with the planning (e.g. table reservations, car hires and activities recommendations).
I could not recommend Sandy Lodge highly enough to others – look no further if you’re travelling to Barbados!
Slice of Heaven
Wow, what an incredible holiday. The villa was beyond perfection, situated in the most ideal location, accessible to everything we wanted to do and a stone throw from the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen.
We absolutely loved our stay at Sandy Lodge, Angela and Richard have made it a perfect environment to relax in after a long day in the sun and the beds were SO comfortable! The free bottle of Rum and the Coconut bread upon our arrival were greatly appreciated after the long flight too!
Porters Court is gated which we loved, although everywhere seems safe anyway.
We lived by the handbook provided and visited so many amazing locations and restaurants, thanks to Angela and Richards recommendations.
We couldn’t fault a single thing and will be recommending Sandy Lodge to all our friends who visit Barbados in the future.
Thank you so much!!

Sandy Lodge is a very short stroll to a safe, sandy beach, bars and restaurants (both casual and more formal).
Lone Star and The Royal Fairmont are more formal restaurants open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They both have beautiful terraces directly overlooking the beach and offer 'fine dining'. Reservations required.
JuJus is a beach bar/restaurant, more casual place to eat, offering local food in an informal style. It's actually on the beach and your table will be on the beach. Close early evening.
All the above are great places for a cold beer or a rum punch and all except Lone Star have happy hours too! They are all wonderful at sunset.
The beach offers all sorts of water sports and you can hire sunbeds and umbrellas. Sandy Lodge does have two beach chairs and an umbrella.
There is a bus stop 1 min walk away with frequent buses (including the famous reggae buses) from early morning to early evening. Buses run in the evening but are less frequent. Buses from our local stop, go to Bridgetown, Speightstown and Oistens.
Car hire and driving in Barbados is very straightforward. Ask us for more information.
Holetown is a 5-10 min drive / bus journey or a 25 min walk. Here you will find shops to buy groceries (including a new upmarket supermarket), designer shops in the Limegrove Centre, visit gift shops in the chattel village, go to the cinema, and enjoy the many bars and restaurants.
Speightstown has a more traditional feel and has a lovely beach, shops, bars and restaurants. It is a great place for a browse and stop for a drink.
Bridgetown is about a 20-25 min drive in either the car or on the bus. Here you will find many shops, bars and restaurants. You can visit Mount Gay rum distillery, The Kensington Oval cricket ground and museum, The Barbadian Parliament and the UNESCO world heritage site around the Garrison.
Barbados has many attractions and all are a short drive or bus ride away. If travelling by bus, you might need to change buses - ask at either Bridgetown or Speightstown bus stations. Attractions include:
Mullins Beach - 7-10 mins away - easy on the bus
Animal Flower Cave - with great restaurant for lunch - 25 mins away
Bathsheba - 35-40 mins away - see the east coast and have lunch at Dinas
Huntes Gardens - just beautiful - 20 mins away
Harrisons Cave and Welchmans Gully - 30 mins away
St Nicholas Abbey - a plantation house with rum distillery - 30 mins away - learn about Barbadian history
Loads of beaches - a very short drive away.
Sandy Lodge is perfectly located to see all Barbados has to offer - whether you have a car or are using local transport.
