Why Kirsten and Henri Vuillermet chose Samoëns
Henri's parents had a similar farmhouse in Sixt, a village further up in the same valley. Henri used to spend Winter and Summer holidays there
Sports & Adventure Activities
Everything was perfect.
We did much appreciate our stay on Kristen and Henri Villermet's holiday home. Il is situated on a very nice spot and the lodging was perfect for us.
We were welcome by our hosts in a very nice manner and are very grateful
A home in the snow
We were greeted by the very friendly owner and to discover this old farm so nicely refurbished was a pure delight!
The views are astonishing, and the rooms spacious, elegant and very cozy.
Everything was perfectly organised and the 5mn car drive to the nearest ski lift not a problem.
Samoens historic village is charming and just a few minutes by car.You can also walk there(20mn).
We highly recommend this getaway to anyone who wants to ski or just relax in a lovely atmosphere with family or friends.
Perfect Base for our Skiing Holiday
This converted farmhouse was a perfect base for our skiing holiday in Samoens. It was spacious and extremely comfortable for the seven members of our party and the views across the valley were breathtaking both by day and night. The overall cleanliness of the farmhouse was high and there was a constant supply of hot water throughout our stay which fully met our needs.
As we were staying on a self-catering basis we did not use the restaurants but there was an abundant supply in the village a short drive away. The farmhouse inventory was extensive and fully met our catering needs and the furnishings had a personal touch which gave a comfortable and homely feel during our stay. Within the accommodation were two storage area for ski boots/jackets, one of which provided adequate drying facilities for clothing.
The access road leading to the farmhouse was narrow and could have been tricky had the snow not been cleared before our arrival otherwise snow-chains would definitely have been necessary. Access to the vast ski area is via the Grand Massif Gondola Station located about3a 2km drive away with free parking areas located close by.
The pictures on the website do not due justice to the property and we were pleasantly surprised to find the actual feel of the farmhouse more comfortable and homely than we expected. There were CD's and board games available as well as sufficient television channels. Overall this farmhouse was one of the best chalets that my wife and I have visited in over 26 years of skiing throughout Europe and I am sure that we will return should we be returning to Samoens.
We are also grateful to the owners who were able to provide the background of the farmhouse, and a brief history of Samoens. Our emailed questions to the owners were promptly answered and we found it comforting to know that the owners representatives lived close at hand and were easily available should we have needed any assistance during our stay.
I would recommend this farmhouse to others without hesitation.
We bought this beautiful untouched farmhouse back in 1978, and we have put all our efforts in restoring it without spoiling the charm and the atmosphere of an old house. Our family has lived in it for 25 years and we are still enchanted by the stunning view and the calm surroundings. The interior decoration has always been a priority for us, trying to create a warm, personal and multicultural atmosphere with craft from the different countries we have lived in for the past 15 years. Our children and grandchildren also love this place, not only for the house and the garden, but also for the big variety of all-season activities children and adults can enjoy in and around Samoens. We hope to share our passion for the house and the valley with all our guests.

Comfort, charm and style in a magnificent location
My wife and young daughter spent a week here in May, and couldn't have been happier with the location and standard of accommodation. It was a genuine delight to spend time in the house, which has such warmth and character and style. The views across this beautiful valley will stay with us for a long time. Samoens provided a good base to explore this part of the Alps. The village itself is very appealing, with plenty of good shops, a good sized weekly market, and a big park nearby for the kids. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property and location as a way to experience the French Alps. Malcolm was a friendly and helpful host, and although we didn't get to meet Henri and Kirsten, they were very friendly and responsive in our dealings.
A beautiful house in a beautiful location
We LOVED the accommodation which was even better than described. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and pleasant in so much as you instantly feel at home there. It has been renovated superably and sympathetically. I loved the history supplied by Henri. You do need a car although there are shorter (but steep) routes down to the village for walkers. We will definitely want to return to this shouse.
This is an excellent chalet. Very well equipped with stunning views to the valley floor. Only 5 minutes drive to the centre of the town. The Watsons help look after it and are very kind and helpful. Great for families. Perfect.
Very pleased to read the review of a very nice family which stayed two weeks in our house. We have lived 25 years in that house which is now for us the meeting point of our family. The peaceful atmosphere of the old farm, the stunning view over the mountains is always a rewarding moment that we all enjoy.
Samoëns is located in the Northern French Alps. One hour from Chamonix, one hour and a half from Italy by the Mont Blanc tunnel. One hour from to Annecy, very attractive summer resort. Close also to Geneva and its beautiful lake. If you come by plane (Geneva airport at 50 km) or by train (Cluses at 18 km, or Annemasse at 40 km), a rental car is advisable to reach our house. There is no convenient bus network and there are no ski shuttles between our house and the village.
If you come by car: Leave the A40 motorway at Cluses (Exit 18), then follow the signs of Samoens-Taninges-Morzine. Soon after Col de Chatillon, follow Samoens-Morillon.
Other Activities: water rafting, water park.
