2 bedroom apartment to sleep up to 5 in central Berlin, by Ku'damm
- english, german
Why Simon chose Wilmersdorf
The best thing about this apartment is its location - just by the entrance to the tube (U7), which makes arrival from Schönefeld very easy. Just get the X7 or 171 from outside the terminal door, to Rudow (about 10 mins) where you pick up the U7 almost to the apartment door (get off at Konstanzer Strasse and choose the Brandenburgische Strasse exit). You are also geographically (and tranport-wise) very close to Tegel Airport.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Well located and comfortable.
We stayed for a week at this apartment. Well equipped, close to transit and a good grocery store. Very comfortable
Thank you. You were great guests. Come again!
Excellent location, warm comfortable apartment
Great choice for a family trip to Berlin. Close to underground, bus and train routes. Great communication from owner and housekeeper
Great location. Nice apartment.
Clean. Comfortable. Perfect location.
Very convenient location
We stayed for 5 weeks in this apartment in September/October. The location could not be more convenient when using public transportation. 2 minutes to the U Bahn, 5 minutes to the buses on Ku-Damm and 10 minutes to the S-Bahn. There are various bakeries, grocery shops within easy walking distance. The side streets have a residential character with lots of trees, small restaurants and cafes. We were 2 people staying in the 2 bedroom flat. The beds were comfortable, the shower had good water pressure. The living room and small bedroom are on a busy street ,but sound proof windows and Rouladen on the outside keep the noise to a minimum. The master bedroom a, kitchen and bathroom are on the back side, looking into a treed, quiet yard.
Frau Reh, the on site manager, was easily available, very nice and competent. All in all, we felt comfortable in this apartment and would return for a future visit.
great appartment in central location of Berlin
The apartment was easy to book and the process was smooth. Simon was very helpful in the process. We communicated via email but he gave out his phone number in case we needed to speak in person. We traveled as a family of 4.
When we arrived we met Mrs. Reh, the house keeper, the hand over went smooth. The apartment is centrally located and close to the U-Bahn or other public transportation. One could also walk to many sites if so inclined. We rented a car and had no problem parking (at most a block away), although it was very crowded on the streets and on the streets surrounding the apartment one needed to pay for parking. On the street where the apartment was parking was free.
The apartment was on the first floor and on a busy street. One could close the shades at night and it was very quite. The bed room faced to the rear and was peaceful. One thing that bothered us was that there was a person from the building who went to smoke right below the bedroom window frequently and the smell of smoke came into the room. The bathroom is nice with a shower that worked well. the kitchen was kind of small but the there almost was everything available to cook with except a microwave (for Americans, who are used to one). The furniture was adequate and well stocked with towels, sheets and other things. The living room was nice and big. A TV there but we did not watch much. We like to workout and where looking at places to go. We found FitX Fitness studio down the street where we could work out 2 days for free. We then went to McFit where we also could work out for free for a couple of days. It would be nice if the host has the information about fitness clubs in the area so one does not need to look so long on their own.
There are grocery stores within waking distance.
Overall, we all enjoyed the stay and would definitely recommend it.
Thanks for your great review! As the kitchen is small we did not quite know where ot put a microwave, but hopefully it has everythign else, including full-size cooker, oven and tall family-size fridge-freezer. I have never been bothered by the solitary garden smoker, although I know some people are particularly sensitive to smoke! On the up-side guests have never smoked in the apartment and the communal halls and stairs never smell of smoke. Best wishes, and come again! Simon
***UPDATE JAN 2019 *** WE HAVE NOW ADDED A MICROWAVE IN THE KITCHEN*****
We very much enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It would work great for a family of 4 though we were traveling without our son this trip. The apartment is right on a busy street but the windows shut out the noise so it’s not an issue at all. The location is 1 block from U7 U-Bahn line — very convenient. A grocery store is 1.5 blocks away. Simon the owner and Frau Reh the housekeeper were great to deal with. 5 stars.
Wilmersdorf is possibly central Berlin's finest neighbourhood. Until the wall came down in November 1989, the thriving metropolis of West Berlin centered around Wilmersdorf's famous Kurfürstendamm (or 'Ku Damm' as it is known locally). Walk up this broad up-market avenue and you will see all the famous shops, cultivating at Tauentzienstrasse, where you will find KDW, Germany's answer to Harrods. Even in a united Berlin, the best parts of the old West Berlin, such as central Wilmerdorf (where the apartment is located), still enjoy some of the greatest concentrations of shops, restaurants, hotels and transport connections. Walk up Ku' dam to the wonderful Berlin Zoo, site of the famous Gedächtniskirche, stopping for shopping, or to eat at one of the hundreds of local restaurants, offering high quality cuisine of every nationality! If you don't fancy walking, the nearest Metro station is just one minute from your front door. Also nearby is the large and picturesque Volkspark Wilmersdorf.
PLEASE NOTE: For anybody arriving by car, the
apartment is in central Berlin which is now a so-called 'Green Zone'. You will need to buy a permit for your stay at www.umweltplakette.org/umweltplakette-kaufen/
