Get away from it all and relax in the sunny southeast of Ireland.
“The Grove” is an architect-designed modern family-home that sleeps up to 8 people, and has a large garden, including a wild-area, fishpond, and two patio areas, complete with garden/patio furniture, sun umbrellas, and barbeque.
You can chill out in this quiet, secluded countryside retreat, located in the sunny south-east of Ireland, just a short 5-minute drive from the nearby “South Beach” (a massive continuous 20km-long stretch of golden sands) and just 2km from the quaint village of Ballygarrett, where you can enjoy its shops, pubs, churches, restaurant, café, takeaway, and unique Sunday Morning Market.
This large home (250 sq. metres/2,700 sq. ft.) features a marble-tiled entrance hall leading to 4 bedrooms (2 ensuite) and the main bathroom. All bedrooms have built-in wardrobes. The main bedroom has a super king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom, also with an ensuite bathroom, has a king size bed. The third bedroom has a double-bed, and the fourth bedroom has 2 single beds. The main bathroom is marble-tiled, with a large shower and Jacuzzi bath.
The sitting room is very cosy and relaxing with a fireplace with gas fire, TV, DVD player, music centre, and a selection of both DVDs and CDs. The family TV room also has a fireplace with gas fire, while the sunroom/dining-room has a large glass dining table (to seat 8 people) and a cosy seating area to relax over drinks and coffee before or after dinner, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the garden and fishpond, with large double doors that open out on the patio/barbeque area.
The kitchen comes well-equipped with a large centre island-unit, double oven, 5-ring glass hob, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge. The utility room has a washing machine, clothes dryer, and American-style fridge/freezer.
“The Grove” is a great base from which to visit all the tourist activities of the east and south east of Ireland, across Wexford, Wicklow, Waterford, Kilkenny, and Dublin.
In addition to the South Beach and Ballygarrett, the small fishing village of Cahore is just 2km away. Cahore has been a popular location for tourists, fishermen, and wild-life enthusiasts for generations. The village is dominated by its long pier, with a pub where you can relax over drinks,or have a bite to eat, looking out across the harbour. Generations of children have fished for crabs from the bridge in centre of the pier, while many small fishing boats are launched daily from the slipway. Sea anglers frequent the small beach to the immediate north (known locally as "the North Beach"), as do many families, who enjoy swimming and bathing in the shallow, sheltered area between the beach and pier.
Also nearby is Wells House & Gardens, a beautiful Victorian house and gardens, which has something for all generations to enjoy: 2 woodland walks, beautifully-restored formal Victorian terrace gardens, an adventure playground, art gallery, restaurant, and even a resident archer and falconer!
The large bustling market town of Gorey is just 10km away, where you will find a new shopping centre, main street shopping, lots of popular boutiques, supermarkets, coffee shops, pubs, cinema and many good restaurants.
A short drive away is Enniscorthy town, home to the Wexford County Museum (housed in a 1,000-year-old castle!), with the renowned Monart Destination Spa (adult only)just outside the town. You could also visit Wexford town to see the Irish National Heritage Park or New Ross town to see the Dunbrody Famine Ship and John F. Kennedy Arboretum. Also nearby is Waterford, Ireland’s oldest city, historic Kilkenny Castle, and the Wicklow Mountains National Park… even Dublin City is only an hour drive away, making it ideal for a day-trip!

It attracts audiences from both home and abroad, who travel to Wexford to experience this unique celebration of Opera in the newly-renovated Wexford Opera House, as well as the corresponding fringe festival that brings with it a unique mix of theatre, dance, craft, traditional music, and tours of local sites of cultural and historical importance.

Fantastic and relaxing holiday in a beautiful and welcoming home
A beautiful home which was welcoming, luxurious and made for a very relaxing stay
Edel was a fantastic host. Her attention to detail was amazing. The house is very well appointed, looked after and perfect for upto 8 people.
It is a lovely area to explore. Though there is a wind farm near by at no time was it even noticeable once you drove into 'The Grove'
There are good beaches around and the weather was brilliant practically throughout
The closest supermarket is about 4 miles away but others do deliver. Great for a relaxed holiday, beach walking, horse riding (though didn't do it saw some stables and a few out riding)
Dublin is about 90 minutes away. The Wicklow national park is about an hour and Waterford is about 45 min. All great for day trips
Thank you Edel for a very nice holiday
Fabulous home. Very comfortable. Felt like a hotel. Great WiFi to keep kids happy. Sandy beach close
Very good family home for a holiday. Gorgeous sandy beach (3km long!)only 5 mins drive away. House is beautiful, like a hotel. We felt very spoiled for our break. Definitely recommend it to everyone. And Edel the owner is very nice and accommodating. Great job Edel! Keep up the good work
It was a great break in fantastic house. Very comfortable, with great equipment and a very nice and helpfull owner. Worth it
