house located within the town of El Padul.
Municipality of the province of Granada, belonging to the region of Valle de Lecrín. It is located 13 km from Granada, on the motorway that goes towards Motril, once past the Suspiro del Moro where, according to legend, King Boabdil contemplated for the last time and wept his lost kingdom, giving entrance to the enchanting Lecrín.
Given its privileged location between Granada, Sierra Nevada, the Granada coast and the Alpujarra, it is an ideal place from which to plan or organize visits or excursions to numerous places outside and within its municipal area.
Padul has witnessed various cultures and civilizations that have left an important cultural and monumental heritage.
One of the most important attractions of Padul is its lagoon. This is a marshy land, partially carved, dotted with small lagoons and numerous springs. It is a Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA) and has been declared Wetland of International Importance by the RAMSAR agreement. The lagoon is located 500m from the urban center, it is a protected area by the Sierra Nevada National Park and also one of the most interesting wetlands located in southern Europe.
This privileged place, which has great importance from the ecological, scientific and landscape point of view within the natural park of Sierra Nevada, also has a peculiar peat bog, the southernmost in Europe, where mammoth remains often appear with relative frequency and other prehistoric animals (the mammoth becoming the symbol of the municipality).
