If you are looking for a holiday in the Scottish Highlands with a touch of luxury then look no further..... The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and has 3 bedrooms and 3 shower rooms, 2 of which are en-suite. It is ideally suited to families of all ages.

The cottage is situated in the rural Easter Ross village of Saltburn, by the shores of the Cromarty Firth. From the front there are splendid open views towards the Black Isle. It's on the shoreline of the Cromarty Firth that a variety of wildlife can often be seen and a walk along the beach will always be interesting.

The cottage is an ideal base to visit the many whisky distilleries and castles in the area. Only a few miles away is the Balnagown estate which has good opportunities to explore the outdoors with dedicated cycling and walking routes. There are good golf courses in the local area which are set in some wonderful scenery.

The Royal Burgh of Tain is 10 minutes drive away. This quaint small town is steeped in local history dating back a thousand years. Here you can walk down the narrow streets and visit some of the old buildings, churches and museums.

Inverness is an easy 30 minutes drive away.

All you could ask for in a cottage

We stayed here in December 2017, nicely furnished 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom cottage. Great base for touring either northern Scotland (Wick, John O'Groats etc) or south to Inverness and the coast along to Nairn and of course Culloden. As well as visiting family we revisited childhood memories (our father was born in Rafford and lived both on the Black Isle and Forres), which was great.

There was a nice welcome basket left for us along with a cupboard full of "essentials" and although we did not need to contact Graham, the owner, he had sent me a nice e mail with contact numbers before we arrived.

Although there was only 3 of us, it would be suitable for up to 6 adults. Highly recommended.

Excellent house got everything

Loved the place as a whole as everything was just perfect .

The location was great , the house was tidy and had everything you could ask for . Had a lovely time with my family will definitely come again and recommend everyone. One of my best holidays I would say . The home owner is great and helped us promptly with everything we asked , perfect place for a holiday.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely, quiet spot.

We had a wonderful week touring Scotland from our homebase at Oystercatcher's Cottage. The cottage was clean and tidy, well appointed and held no surprises. The view from the porch was fabulous! And we really appreciated the supply of local tourism brochures -- they were helpful in planning our adventures! Should we return to this part of Scotland, we'd love to book the cottage for another stay.

'Oystercatcher Cottage' is located in a small village called Saltburn on the shores of the Cromarty Firth one mile north east of Invergordon on the B817. Nearby there are castles, distilleries, historical places of interest and beaches all within easy driving distance.
