3 bedroom cottage close to beach

If you are looking for a holiday in the Scottish Highlands with a touch of luxury then look no further..... The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and has 3 bedrooms and 3 shower rooms, 2 of which are en-suite. It is ideally suited to families of all ages.

The cottage is situated in the rural Easter Ross village of Saltburn, by the shores of the Cromarty Firth. From the front there are splendid open views towards the Black Isle. It's on the shoreline of the Cromarty Firth that a variety of wildlife can often be seen and a walk along the beach will always be interesting.

The cottage is an ideal base to visit the many whisky distilleries and castles in the area. Only a few miles away is the Balnagown estate which has good opportunities to explore the outdoors with dedicated cycling and walking routes. There are good golf courses in the local area which are set in some wonderful scenery.

The Royal Burgh of Tain is 10 minutes drive away. This quaint small town is steeped in local history dating back a thousand years. Here you can walk down the narrow streets and visit some of the old buildings, churches and museums.

Inverness is an easy 30 minutes drive away.

Warm and comfortable rooms in a modernised cottage very near the shore with views over the Firth (and parked oil rigs!) Excellent base for showing our Kiwi friends the best of Scotland.

Very comfortable little cottage

We were 6 people and each 2 had a separate room with a connecting bathroom. Kitchen is fully decorated and everything was really clean. The landlord was really nice and you could call him at any time. We arrived on Sunday and he did leave us a "Welcome Box" with some snacks, cereal, cheese and some toast. It was really nice and comfortable and we can only recommend it to everybody.

cool view on the bay and rather quiet as well even though it is right on the street, low traffic anyways out there.

the house is in great shape, clean and well equipped with everything you need for self catering.

we may come back if time permits :)

Lovely cottage

Lovely cottage. Very clean and great to be opposite the beach. The owner was very helpful before we arrived and answers emails quickly. We were only there two nights but the area has lots to do. Dunrobin Castle is worth a visit and we saw seals too.

The perfect holiday home

We have stayed in many holiday properties over the years and this one in Saltburn with views over the Cromarty Firth to the Black Isle is right up there among the best. The house looks deceivingly modest from the outside but has the "wow" factor once you go in. The extension at the back contains a large airy modern kitchen, and each of the two upstairs double bedrooms has its own modern en-suite, with the downstairs double bedroom as good as having one too. The stairs themselves are a lovely feature. There is total privacy at the back with patio and large garden, while the front porch is a sun-trap ideal for sitting and watching the world go by. Facilities were first-class and the property was scrupulously clean and well-maintained. The owner was very friendly and helpful, arriving within minutes to sort a minor problem with the TV. We had a great week of weather which added to our enjoyment of visits to Dornoch, quaint Cromarty, the lovely beach at Brora, the pretty village of Portmahomack on the Tarbat peninsula and the former spa town of Strathpeffer. Nearby Invergordon has a host of impressive murals as well as a good 18-hole golf-course. I also managed a round on the excellent course at Tain. Definitely an area and property we would recommend unreservedly.
