This is a Listed Grade II Medieval Manor House built in the 1400s situated in the Green Conservation Hamlet of Hadzor The house holds the charm and history of 600 years with refurbished modern day amenities.

Historic records traces the Hamlet of Hadzor in the middle of the Feckenham Forest, a great hunting ground. The house along with the Hadzor Estate was given to Catherine of Aragon, Queen of England by Henry VIII in 1533. It later belonged to the Earl of Warrick.

About Richard & Glenda

Richard parents Charles & Barbara Fellows bought the house in 1942 during the 2nd World War and moved into the house in 1944. Richard grew up here and returned with his wife Glenda in 2000 on the death of his mother.

Richard & Glenda purchased this cottage in 1942

Why Richard & Glenda chose Wychavon

Since 2000 much work has been done to the house up upgrade. However, at present the owners Richard & Glenda are cruising on their boat in the Mediterranean for the next few years.

What makes this cottage unique

This is truly a unique country house little changed since the 15th century.

A magnificent property full of character and history.

Excellent location for touring the Cotswolds and Midlands.

There are not many opportunities to enjoy such a house, highly recommended.

Great Home to Rent...highly recommended by us

  • 5 of 5

Loved so much of this historic home. The grounds near the canal, seeing the boats go by, the sheep in the fields. Richard and Glenda are wonderful to work with and we highly recommend this rental. Droitwich is very well located near the Cotswolds and really every place in England and Wales...with a small-town touch.

Fabulous Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

What a special time we have had in this delightful home. After spending the past five weeks in The Old Manor, perhaps the greatest compliment we can pay is to simply say how difficult we found it to leave - our family (2 adults and 3 active boys) were all very sad. It was truly a memorable experience and exactly what we were hoping for (more in fact). The owners/caretakers were great and made us feel very welcome. How wonderful it was to have everything one could want in a home away from home (kitchen, linens, books - I mean everything). If you're looking for a little haven and a quintessential English house look no further. You are close to wonderful stately homes, beautiful countryside and nearby sites (eg. Cotswolds, Stratford). There are no negatives to this home and we are a fussy family! We would come back in a heartbeat.

It was heaven

  • 5 of 5

The old manor was just stunning. I could live there for the rest of my life. It was so cosy and comfortable. It was so well appointed with lots of crockery and glasswear etc we were able to hold my MIL 80th birthday party luncheon there. The sun even shined so we could have it outside in the glorious garden. Everything you could need away from home was there.

The owners and property manager were very helpful with descriptions and details and showed us the local walks along the canals to the pubs :-).

As a property for a family you couldn't get better and I now feel confident that should we ever decide to brave a trip to the UK in winter and could stay at the Old Manor it would be a very successful trip.

Thank you do much Richard and Glenda for such a wonderful property.

The Old Manor, Hadzor, Worcestershire

  • 5 of 5

A perfect house to stay for a family holiday.

All was as per the descriptions. Our 8 year daughter loved playing the piano and also sitting by the real fires.

Plenty to do within walking distance along the canals,a trip to Worcester (15mins) is also a must.

All in all a fab place to stay.

Perfect for Family Gatherings

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Old Manor in November for an "American Thanksgiving" with the English side of the family. The house is a quintessential English home from the 1700's surrounded by gardens and fields with sheep. The kitchen was well equipped to cook a complete Turkey dinner with roasted potatoes, stuffing and pumpkin pie - even dinner service for 12 and an antique serving platter and carving set! The wood burning stoves and an antique door turned into the dining table completed the effect. Our English family really enjoyed their first Thanksgiving at the Old Manor.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for the wonderful review. If we may make a correction, the house was built in the 1400s. By the 1700s it was a very old house already! Glenda & Richard Fellows
