Coastguard cottage is a self catering holiday home and is situated on the Esplanade in Ryde. Our beautiful Ex Coastguard cottage, has recently been redecorated in soft greys with French grey carpets and good quality furniture to create a cosy seaside haven. This is a 200 year old wonky cottage full of character. (pictures to be added soon) and WIFI It is a 5 min level walk to the safe glorious sandy beaches of Ryde. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 king and 2 singles and a sofa bed that could accommodate on extra guest or two. Both bedrooms have sea views and Flat screen TVs. There is a selection of books and games and DVDs and during the summer months a selection of buckets, spades and beach games. We share a small courtyard at the rear. Coastguard cottage is steeped in history and built circa 1880s. The Victorian town of Ryde is know as the town on the beach and has one of the longest stretches of sandy beach from Ryde to Appley and on to Puckpool. All along the promenade there are cafes, The 3 buoys or the award winning beachside restaurant The boat house. Also with in a 5 min walk Is the swimming pool, hover craft terminal, over 40 bars and cafes, bowling alley and funfair with crazy golf, boating lake and harbour.

The Isle of Wight has something to suit everyone with hundreds of attractions and places to visit, from The Needles Rocks and Lighthouse to keeping the kids entertained at a fun park like Robin Hill Adventure Park and black gang chine or by taking a ride on the fantastic steam railway or by visiting one of the fantastic animal attractions such as the Isle of Wight Zoo. For adults check out Osborne house or from the cottage follow the coastal path to Quarr Abbey. Of course there is simply miles and miles of beautiful sandy beaches!
There is a fantastic bus service running islandwide and a train service running from Ryde pier head to shanklin, both terminals are a 2 min walk from the cottage. Wightlink run a fast cat service from Ryde pier head to Portsmouth harbour, Gunwhaf quays, Portsmouth historic dockyard and spinnaker tower are a short stroll away.
