The whole house has hardwood floors, while in the bathrooms were installed marble and ceramics
the Marais: Once a swampy area, the Marais became important from the fourteenth century, thanks to its proximity to the Louvre, the favorite residence of Charles V.
It reached its zenith in the seventeenth century when it became the favorite area aristocracy.
Splendid palaces were built, the hotels, which still dot the Marais.
Many of these buildings have been restored and converted into museums
My roommate and I were delighted with this apartment. There was plenty of room for two unrelated guests. We each had great beds, two bathrooms for privacy and lots of amenities. We lacked nothing, and found things we didn't expect to find in a rental. She even had tape to close the post office boxes we sent our treasures home in!
The apartment is very well situated on a beautiful street with bus, taxi and metro options and lots of stores. Either next door or within a couple minute walk there are: marvelous bakery, wine shop, excellent restaurants, a local store for last minute items, and the terrific Bastille Market just behind the building.
The concierge is a delight and was very helpful to us in everything from how to pull out the sofa bed, to using the clothes rack for really big items. Always with a smile, responsive and hard working.
Mariapia is a wonderful person to work with. She responds very quickly and efficiently to all emails from the reservation process on. Her recommendations are excellent so you can rely on them! I would book with her again in a red hot minute.
Our family of 4 (2 parents and 2 older teens) fully enjoyed Mariapia's apartment. Mme Andre showed us to the 3rd floor apt. She's a very sweet lady, but speaks limited English, so it's helpful to know a little French or at least have Google Translate handy. The apt was equipped with all we needed, and made us feel like we lived in Paris for the week. Having two bathrooms and a washing machine was very helpful. We felt safe in the neighborhood, there are two sets of locked doors to get into the apt building. The courtyard kept the street noise out, so sleeping, even with the windows open, was peaceful. The weather was unusually warm the first day, but quite pleasant the rest of the week so the 2 fans kept us comfortable (there's no A/C). The yummy bakery on the corner was our daily ritual for breakfast. The location is so handy with two metro stops and several bus stops within blocks of the apt. Thank you for a great experience, we hope to return one day!
This property is fabulous. Two bathrooms, large bedroom, Comfortable REAL queen-size bed and a great deal of living space contributed to our five star rating. Moreover, the location is incredible. You are less than three blocks from the largest outdoor markets in Paris held on Thursdays and Sundays. You are within walking distance of the Place de Vosges, The Bastille Monument, and a metro which will take you anywhere you want to go in Paris. The neighborhood is quiet as is the building in which you are living. Across the street there is a wonderful patisserie offering delicious pasties and bread. Beyond that, the hallways and exteriors were always clean. The only drawback is that there is a washing machine but no dryer. There are however heated walls and other devices upon which your clothes can be dried and we had no problem whatsoever. Madams Andre is on sight to help with anything you need. She is a most pleasant person. All in all, one of the best places we've ever stayed at.
My wife and I stayed at this apartment for 12 days in the spring. We were joined by another couple for the entire stay. We are all retired educators.
- The apartment was well equipped and allowed plenty of room for two couples.
- It was great having the two bedrooms located on different floors providing plenty of privacy.
- The beds were comfortable.
- It was also good having two full bathrooms.
- The kitchen was well equipped. We prepared a number of dinners easily.
- Everything was generally clean.
- The flat screen TV in the living room is a good sized Sony.
- The best part was the location - directly across from the fabulous Vondel Park and right across the street from the Hertz/Thrifty car rental office.
- Also, the apartment is far enough from the center that the area wasn't overrun with tourists, yet it's close enough that you can easily walk to most important sites.
- The water pressure was very low for the showers in each bathroom.
- Having the downstairs toilet way down the hall from the master bedroom was a pain.
- The stairs up to the apartment and then again up to the second bedroom are quite steep.
- The upstairs ensuite bathroom is very small.
- We were not allowed to use the rear balcony...it was actually chained shut!
All in all, a good stay in a great city.
We've stayed in many places in Paris and will always stay at this fabulous apartment whenever it is available. Mariapia has taken the time to add extras to make it homey. The beds are comfortable. My daughter does not like couch beds but this one was super comfortable and she had no complaints. Warm blankets, great pillows, a dishwasher!, 2 bathrooms with plenty of space especially in the showers, secure entrance and courtyard, an elevator for luggage, lots of light, fabulous kitchen and a washing machine. We spent Christmas here, our first time away from home at Christmas, and our family had a wonderful experience. Thank you for everything!
My husband & I had the opportunity to stay at this gorgeous apartment from 11/1-11/9 2015. It far exceeded our expectations & felt so fortunate to be able to experience such a wonderful stay. From the moment we contacted Mariapia, she was extremely gracious & helpful. Giving us advice on how to get to the apartment from the Gare Du Nord & other information for the area. Upon our arrival & meeting Madame Andres, we felt so great to have her as a point of reference as she too was extremely gracious & helpful. When we entered the apartment, we knew we made the absolute right choice. The apartment is located on the 3rd floor, there is a small elevator for easy access as well as stairs. The apartment is bright & cheerful with beautiful colors. The kitchen is set up to allow for a full meal should you choose to do so. There is a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher & oven. There are tons of utensils, pots, pans, cups, glasses, plates & bowls. There are spices & other items should you need them. There is a nice kitchen table to enjoy your meals on. There are 2 bathrooms which is very convenient. The 1st bathroom is located off of the kitchen & is also where the washing machine is located. There is a large stand in shower in that bathroom. There is no dryer, so drying is on racks, which we do a lot of at home anyway, so it worked well for us. The living room has a coat rack, plenty of light, 2 sofas-one of them folds out into a bed. There are a lot of books, & some great information about the area as well as central paris. There is a nice flat screen t.v. & there is free Wifi in the apartment as well. The views of the courtyard from the living room are really nice and the apartment is relatively quiet. The bedroom is spacious & the bed is extremely comfortable with nice linens & pillows. There are 2 closets in the bedroom where you can store your clothes. Also in the master is another bathroom with a walk up stand in shower. The bathroom is quite spacious & has a lot of counter space as well as a separate rack for you to put your items. Both bathrooms came with hair dryers so need to bring any with you. The area where the apartment is located is amazing. So much to see and do! Lot of restaurants & shops near by and being so close to 2 train stations-Bastille (1) and Chemin Vert (7) could not have been more convenient. There are a few grocery stores close by as well. We were so grateful to have found this apartment & highly recommend a stay here.
