Lovely apartment

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time staying in Sebastiano's apartment. It was beautifully laid out and furnished, well finished, lots of storage, with great wifi - we managed to get Netflix working too! There are two swimming pools, one deep and a shallower one. Both were freezing, not that our daughter seemed to mind! We were the only English family there; everyone else was Italian.

There were 4 mid priced restaurants within a 5 min walk of the property, plus an ice cream shop, a couple of bars and a small spa shop. Our favourite restaurant was the Sagittarius pizzeria, which had a great range of food and also stocked local wines. There were more restaurants by Monica port which is a 15 min walk away (or to be more precise, 10 min there and 20 min home - it's on a steep hill!). There is a reasonable supermarket about 10 min walk.

Despite its convenience, we didn't really warm to Moniga, but it was a good place to visit other towns from. Our favourite was Salo, 20 min drive. We also visited Sirmione (pretty but v busy), Gardone, Riva and Limone by boat, and of course Verona. We'd definitely recommend you hire a car.

Thank you Sebastiano for a lovely holiday.

Garda Holiday July 2017

  • 5 of 5

A lovely apartment in a very convenient location. The apartment is well designed and modern with an excellent kitchen and laundry facilities. Although the air conditioning did not work when we arrived, our host, Sebstiano arranged for it to be repaired quickly which was just as well as the outside temperature was 40 degrees when we left. The wifi was excellent and we managed to watch netflicks on the TV on the ceiling of the main bedroom! The second bedroom has bunk beds which suited us fine as a family, however it would not have been suitable for two couples. The pool is excellent with a large deep pool (6ft) and a shallow pool suitable for children that runs round the building. Parking was in a private underground garage. Moniga is a lovely village with shops, cafes and many restaurants. Although small it was bustling, with entertainment most evenings in the main square. Most of the tourists were Italian or German- very few British. The port is about a 10 minute walk and the beach is a 5 minute drive in the car. We took the fast train (180 mph) to Venice and Milan from the Desenzano station. (Plenty of free parking by the station). A wonderful drive is up to Limone along a winding cliff edge road.

Overall a great holiday- in a lovely apartment.
