Alternatively, after an active day out there is nothing better than taking a short stroll in the evening to a local Spanish restaurant/bar. Jesus Pobre allows you to do this and you will find that all the local restaurants are not only welcoming, but also not overpriced and very child friendly. A great alternative!
Also, there is a very small local Thursday market in
village - amazing veg, fresh fruit and meats for those who wish to spend an evening at home relaxing and sitting peacefully on balcony overlooking the valley (for al fresco dining). There is also a Sunday market in the village and once a month, an antique market.
There is also a lovely Church in the village, well worth a look and everyone is welcome.
JESUS POBRE: There are a few small Spanish villages that have never lost the charm of sparsely populated areas and have preserved their own personality and unique characteristics and Jesus Pobre is one such village. Lying inland between the towns of Javes and Denia and Gata de Gorgos next to the impressive Montgo mountain, this pretty village is a haven of peace and tranquility. Its history is evident in the ruins of the 18th century grain mills and the culture of its vines. Olives and moscatel grapes are harvested traditionally and one of the village's main fiestas, del Cabrerot is held around October once the grape harvest is over.
