Nestled on just over two acres of lush, tropical rainforest yet only a short drive from miles of unspoiled coastline, this house is ideally located to offer you the best of both worlds.
The two-bedroom furnished house boasts many of the comforts of home, including three ceiling fans and an A/C unit in the master bedroom. Nonetheless, you still feel worlds away from reality as you step on to the large covered porch to discover a vibrant rainforest at your doorstep.
From there, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of Costa Rican wildlife while lazily catnapping on a hammock. Squirrel monkeys, Amazon parrots, toucans, lovebirds, hummingbirds, a three toed sloth, and even poison dart frogs have been spotted on the property.
If you wake up early enough, you’re likely to see squirrel monkeys eating their breakfast and swinging from branch to branch on a tree directly in front of the porch. Furthermore, the heat is moderated greatly by the nearby ocean breezes and the canopy of the rainforest. But if its beautiful beaches dotted with leaning palm trees you seek you need only to drive a short distance.
A two mile jeep ride to the nearest beach in Pilon and six miles to the point in Pavones. World-renowned for its superior waves, Pavones attracts surfers from all over. Don’t be surprised to spot plenty of wildlife in town. There are scarlet macaws to be seen as well as iguanas and much more. While you are in town, stop at one of the local restaurants to sample the delicious, authentic Costa Rican cuisine.
If its variety you crave, there is a great Italian spot as well as an open-air theatre/restaurant called La Manta, serving great Mediterranean/American fare. My personal favorite is a little restaurant-bar 15 min. up the road from the house in Conte, Serving up the best Tex-Mex food you have ever tasted, hands down. Ask for the carne mexicana!
So whether its hiking in the rainforest, snorkeling amongst the fish, surfing, or simply taking in the exotic flora and fauna, Pavones Paradise offers you this and so much more!! Come experience this nature-lovers paradise for yourself.
The property is a 2 BR/ 1 BA , with a fully functional kitchen that includes a fridge/freezer combo, gas stove, microwave.
Oh, and a coffee pot. A must have to enjoy the delicious coffee from local super markets. The A/C is very nice during the day as it does get quite warm. The place has a washer and dryer as well.
"Pavones Paradise" is a great place to stay if you or your group is looking to see
Costa Rica beach culture at its finest, hear and see a wide variety of frogs, monkeys, birds and insects while drinking your coffee
with breakfast or in the evening with a nice drink relaxing in one of the two hammocks provided. Yes, they have Toucans. I got to see one during our last days there, so cool. The nearest grocery store is about 15 minutes away. The local restaurants "Soda's" are a great deal for breakfast and "Casado's" for lunch and Dinner, and are also not too far from the home.
The owners carolina and Les were amazing hosts. They were both very helpful when asked about the local cuisine and things to do in the area. The home was perfect for our stay! The only issue we had was that the shower head leaked. We let Carolina know, and she came to the home the same day and had it taken care of for us. Great service, thanks so much for everything!
For the surfers...
There are two surf shops
in town. We rented boards from
"Pavones Surf Shop" . Go here! His name is Randy Walker, he is the Owner/ Shaper. I rented a 6' 6" epoxy thruster for $15/ day + $100 deposit, and my friend got an epoxy 5 fin short board for $15/ day + $100 refundable deposit (boards are in new/ like new condition, so the deposit was expected. We both really enjoyed the boards And scored
Some fantastic surf the five days we stayed there. Randy is a a wealth of knowledge when it comes to boards, if your just beginning or your looking to test the waters with a new board shape or fin set up, Randy's got a board for you!
Till next time, Pura Vida!

As soon as we got to the property and met Carolina and Les we knew we had found the right place. Both of them were so hospitable and friendly. They both made a great effort to make our stay smooth and memorable. The house we stayed in was larger than we anticipated. A friend and I were staying there together and it was plenty of room for the both of us to do our own thing. Large living room and nice size kitchen as well. We were only about 20 mins or so from town but so is everything else in Pavones haha so it wasn't a problem. We suggest stopping at the larger supermarket before getting here and stocking up on food, because the mini mart in town doesn't have to biggest selection but will do. There is no shortage of wild life around the property, we saw about everything you could name and then some.
So if you are looking for amazing hosts and a beautiful rental home for vacation then this is your place!
If you're looking for a great natural getaway, this is the place. In the first day at the house I captured footage of whote face monkeys, red back squirrel monkeys, white hawks, parrots, toucans, dart frogs and a whole cast of other creatures!
The house is very remote and away from all the tourist hustle that I was looking for. The drive to/from San Jose was an adventure in itself! Carolina the property manager is awesome and we've made a vow to keep in touch!
The house is great. It's a really nice mountain house in a great private area. There are monkeys that ocationally will come around the yard. There are spectacular views of the Golfito Dulce only minutes away, and a view right at the top of the yard. If your looking for a nice get a way from the tourist locations, or whether your just looking for your own kind of holiday, this place has got all you'll need. I recomend having a bicycle or a vihicle to get you down to Pavones or Zancudo. The property managers of this place are very nice people.
I Loved this house located just up the mountian from Pavones. The waves were so good there. Some of the best lefts I have ever surfed. The house was nice and cozy. It Was nice going into the town to surf then coming back to peace and quite at night. The Wildlife was great around the house. We saw so many monkeys, birds, and butterflys. The property managers were great people! The stay was great. Sorry it took me so long to post my comments! I would highly reccomend this house to anyone looking for a place in the area. It was also nice because we could cook some of our own food and keep cold beer in the fridge. Oh and you can't beat the Price!
We spent a week at this house in Pavones and would recommend it to anybody. With a waterfall in the back yard surrounded by the rain forest the house is a must see. If you enjoy wildlife and relaxation you found the right place.
