'Cooters' is a wonderful cabin style cottage converted from former stables in the grounds of a countryside farm. Set in the heart of the South Downs National Park, 'Cooters' makes ideal accommodation for keen walkers, those wishing to explore the South Downs or anyone just wanting to just 'get away from it all' for a while. This countryside retreat is only about 4 miles from both the A3 to London and the mainline railway station at Petersfield, so is ideally located for anyone escaping the city or for visitors who fancy a day out in London.
The modern and stylish accommodation is all newly fitted (Spring 2011) with a light and airy open plan living area including the sitting area, kitchen and dining table. The well equipped kitchen area includes a dishwasher, microwave, oven, ceramic hob and washing machine. There is a dining table that will open out to seat any visitors for lunch or dinner and in the sitting area there is a flat screen TV with built-in DVD player, as well as internet access. The double bedroom is found at the other end of the cottage and has an en-suite shower room.
Outside, there is a seating area overlooking a delightful little wet woodland with open fields beyond. The remnants of a small waterway system at the front of the property creates a beautiful backdrop to any long summer's evening.
My partner and I have rented the cottage for a week in July. The cottage is centrally located, with the train you in a little over an hour in London, with the car include Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle can be reached within an hour and the ports of Portsmouth and Southampton within 40 minutes; Winchester is just over half an hour. Furthermore, you can look beautiful walk and the area to visit many beautiful towns and country, and you can go to 'farmer's markets'. The cottage itself is bright and modern, and is fully equipped. The owners are very friendly, and also get some tips on good pubs nearby.
Despite the weather, which wasn't very good this time, we've enjoyed our stay in Cooters. Everytime we say to each other, next year we are going to another place. This never happens because we love it her in these quiet and peaceful surroundings.
We just love Cooters and we´ll be back next year.
With love Ad en Marijke Steenbakkers
P.S. we also love Chris and Jane Healy, they are very nice people
