Centtral Dalmatia is Croatia's finest tourist region. It is famous with 1700-year-old Split built in Diocletian's Palace . There are a number of small Dalmatian old towns placed on coastline such as Trogir, Sibenik, Omis etc which all represent Dalmatia’s great cultural and historical heritage.
Trogir - the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex not only in the Adriatic, but in all of Central Europe is famous for its old town enlisted as UNESCO site of world heritage.
Access to town centre: Apartment is conveniently located within 10 min walk from old Trogir town centre.
You will enjoy the stroll through beautiful maze of narrow ancient streets on the way to the central town square marked with an amazing cathedral church of saint Lovro.
You will enjoy the service and hospitality of little cafes and restaurants which you will find in great number in the Trogir centre. There are delicious dishes cooked from fresh seafood beautiful Mediterranean coffee of all kinds, local and Italian wines and other alcoholic beverages. Also in the centre you will find many small souvenir shops, exchange offices and banks. There is a reach market on continental part of town there you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, wonderful fish and other seafood and local delicacies in the morning.
Coming down the hill and crossing the bridge you’ll find tourist office, where you can buy a tour to one of local wonders: Dubrovnic, Split, national parks Krk and Plitviski Lakes, Islands of Brach.
Access to the beach: There are many cafes, restaurants, and sport clubs at the nearest to the apartment Trogir waterfront. It also has a pier, from where boats are taking off to Split and other parts of the island Ciovo.
If you walk down the hill moving away from Trogir, very soon you will find yourself on the beach – there is 200 mdistance from the apartment to the nearest beach. The central beach of Okryg Gorny is located further along the coast. Everywhere on the sea front there are cafes, restaurants, lounges and sun bathing terraces with umbrellas. Also on the way to the sea you will see little shops, where you can buy snacks, drinks and beach accessories. Beach cafes are offering disco dancing and performances by singers at night.
Of particular note is that you will find your stay pleasantly entertaining at any time of year, because sun and sea bathing are not the only available pleasures, there are also a lot of places of interest, real local treasures worth of seeing.
The place is marvellous. Everything is here: sea, sun, beautiful island, ancient town, history and architecture
We loved location immediately - you can reach the sea and old town by foot in several minutes. It is especially important now when traffic jams could appear in the weekend before the bridge.
Stayed here a couple of weeks and loved it. It is one-bed apartment but not small, it’s spacious, clean and conditioned - my level of comfort! Good location! You can get everywhere you need by foot - for me that is crucial.
If going down one side of the hill you are getting to lovely town centre, walking down the other (south) side of the hill you’ll get to the little marina with a small beach which is safe enough for kids, there is also another much larger beach approx 10 minutes walk further along the coast with many cafes and beach entertainment, but if you like wilder places with picturesque views you better use a car and after 20 minutes drive to the far south side of the island you will arrive to a beautiful beach with a cleanest sea full of life (good for snorkeling).
Small grocery stores are close by and the restaurants in the neighborhoods have a good selection of food and drinks. Considering coming back next year.
The apartment is on Ciovo and only a few minutes walk from the gorgeous Trogir..that's on the way down the hill. Our only proviso would be that if you are elderly, disabled or dreadfully unfit you would need to drive in and use a car park close to town because the walk back up the hill is a little daunting, though short. The apartment is in a large modern block, has its own garden, enjoys seaviews, has a designated car space, and is clean and well equipped.Situated on a hill, it is also a walk to the Ciovo beach (same issue on the way back up the hill) as well as a walk into town.We stayed for a week and explored some of the surrouding area usually by car, though you could use local transport, and could have spent much longer. Beautiful area, lots of good restaurants and excellent accommodation
We spent a lovely week in Apartment Selina; both the owner and the local agent were easy to contact and most helpful. The apartment was very clean, and had all the equipment we needed during our stay. The view across the bay was beautiful, especially in the evening. The walk over the hill and down to Trogir was short but steep - fortunately, we're quite fit and enjoy walking. We went into Split a couple of times on the #37 (bendy) bus - 20 kuna per per person per trip - for a 1 hour journey; the Dalmacija coach is about 15 minutes quicker, costs 18 kuna & goes to & from the main coach station in Split - nearer Diocletian's Palace than the bus station.
You really are spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out in Trogir; we had 2 very good meals, one at the very last restaurany on the Riva - just before the fort, and the other (even better) at the Ponte Piccolo - again close to the fort, but in an alley running parallel to the Riva. I recommend the swordfish steak kebabs (100 kuna for 2 persons). Excellent friendly service & a relaxed atmosphere - wish we'd found it earlier...
Overall, we had a really good, relaxing holiday and I would not hesitate to recommend apartment Selina, Trogir and Ciovo for a vacation.
