About Carol G Carson
We spent our honeymoon on MDI in 1978. Along with many treasured memories and places, we still discover brand new things to do and see and experience with each returning visit. What more is there to say? We really love it here and so will you.
Carol G Carson purchased this House in 2006
Why Carol G Carson chose West Tremont
Mount Desert Island is a truly magical place! Acadia National Park is a national treasure.
What makes this House unique
From Acadia National Park website: www.nps.gov/acad/ The First Eastern National Park People have been drawn to the rugged coast of Maine throughout history. Awed by its beauty and diversity, early 20th-century visionaries donated the land that became Acadia National Park. The park is home to many plants and animals, and the tallest mountain on the U.S. Atlantic coast. Today visitors come to Acadia to hike granite peaks, bike historic carriage roads, or relax and enjoy the scenery.

A HOME AWAY PARADISE
Wow!! This home is spectacular. Gorgeous views of Blue Hill Bay, large open concept living with a fireplace for chilly evenings, and a kitchen that has everything you expect and more. The beds and linens are wonderful. And talk about privacy. This house sits on 10 quiet beautiful acres of woods. The smell of evergreens and the cool ocean breezes make it so you never want to leave. And yet a trip to Acadia is only a short 20 minutes away with great restaurants nearby. We have rented many houses in our travels, but this is the first one that feels like a HOME. L'Acadie Cottage is truly a special place.
Peaceful Maine retreat
Spacious, spotless, and an extremely cozy home! We loved our trip to Acadia and more-so, how close we were to all of our favorite hikes. The view upstairs was incredible at night, and sitting by the fireplace was our favorite part :)
You will love this home.
Beautiful setting. Breathtaking view. A haven of peace surrounded by trees.
Property well maintained with all conveniences there. A fabulous hideaway in the middle of magnificent trees. One can dream about staying there forever!
Beautiful view, comfortable, quiet.
The outdoor decks and the views were lovely. Sunsets and star gazing were our favorite memories. We slept so well in the master bedroom as the bed and linens were just fabulous! Thank you for sharing your home.
Terrific! Beautiful setting, comfortable house with all the amenities.
What a wonderful week we had. The setting is so beautiful. The views of the water and trees, the quiet that surrounds you are just what we wanted in a vacation. Of course we explored Bar Harbor and Acadia but we also enjoyed the little towns nearby--Northeast Harbor, Southwest Harbor, little restaurants and local stores. The house is very comfortable. The kitchen is beautiful and is well-stocked; eating at the table overlooking the scenery beyond was a bonus. The beds were very comfortable and, of course, the view from the master suite is spectacular. It was a terrific week and we highly recommend this property.
Fantastic Quiet Side property, well equipped and very comfortable.
I enjoyed a two week stay with my dog at L’Acadie Cottage. We hiked many Quiet Side trails and explored the many lovely nooks in and around Southwest Harbor. I kayaked in Long Pond and a second time on a guided tour in open water. The house - with its stunning view of Goose Cove - was the perfect respite after a busy day. I can’t wait to return to MDI and to L’Acadie Cottage!
Ferry boat rides to surrounding islands (Cranberry Isles, Swan's Island).
The National Park Service has wonderful excursions too!
