A great place to stay for our family celebration weekend

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Carlton Old Hall was wonderful. The beautiful cottage was spacious, housing the seven of us for our weekend in real comfort. Cosy warm fires with picture perfect snow to look out on or to venture out to play in. Highly recommended.

A stunning property and a great base to explore the Dales!

  • 5 of 5

We booked the house to mark a special birthday in the family. The house did not disappoint, with ample room for our family (of 7 (with a 15 month old plus a dog). There was a high chair provided for the toddler as well as a travel cot and stair gates. There were also plenty of plastic plates and bowls for children too.

There is so much character in the house, with the open fires, beams, large bedrooms and plenty of toilets for the guests. Rooms are finished to a high standard, you can tell that the owner takes pride in this house, and rightly so. The house was lovely and warm, especially when it was so cold outside.

The house is ideally placed as a base to explore the Dales with Leyburn, Hawes and Masham all in close proximity. There is plenty of walks around the house and the surrounding area. The local pub, The Forester Arms, is also a short walk away and offers a large selection of Gins served by very welcoming proprietors.

I am sure we shall be back in the future.

Beautiful well equipped house

  • 5 of 5

This is a charming quirky old house which was spotlessly clean and has been beautifully modernised, to provide everything we needed for a long weekend in the Dales. We were 2 families and the house was much bigger than we expected so there was plenty of room for the kids to play and the adults relax. The location means there were circular walks from the house, and suggested routes were provided by the owner. We visited and loved Forbidden Corner, Saddle Room, Wensleydale Heifer and the village pub and are looking forward to returning.

A stunning house in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We booked the house for a long weekend to celebrate my parents' golden wedding anniversary. There were eight of us in total. The whole experience from the very outset was perfect. Donna was helpful and very responsive to commuications and offered great advice. Upon arrival we were immediately bowled over by the charming house finished to an excellent standard - it's clear that a lot of care, attention and money has been invested in the property.

All of the bedrooms were large and comfortable and the layout was ideal for allowing people to have their own space when desired or to comfortably accommodate our whole party when required. We were lucky enough to enjoy great weather and were able to take advantage of the lovely garden with its uninterrupted views across the valley. My mum has limited mobility and so having a bedroom and bathroom (with wet room shower) on the ground floor was important to us.

There was a thoughtful welcome hamper provided along with some staples in the larder, and basics such as dishwasher tablets etc.

We were all blown away by the house and none of us wanted to leave. It really made my parents celebrations special and they've not stopped talking about it since we left.
