COR-002. Dove's Dawn - a romantic retreat that sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedroom
Ideal for that special romantic time away together, Dove's Dawn is a traditional spacious detached barn conversion near the pretty village of St Keyne, just three miles from Liskeard and close to the well-known fishing ports of Looe, Polperro and Fowey. Situated on Killigorrick Farm in a quiet valley with five other character holiday cottages, the barn is accessed down a long winding farm lane off the road, and guests have shared access to 17 acres of the owner's natural grounds. Dove's Dawn is perfect for exploring the charms of South Cornwall or for simply relaxing amongst glorious countryside close to the sea.
Guests are greeted with a spacious open plan living space which comprises a well-equipped kitchen, dining and sitting areas with a wood burning stove, a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. A further two steps lead to the double bedroom with vaulted ceiling and exposed rafters and adjacent shower room. With French doors to the garden from both the dining and sitting areas, the private large gardens to the front and rear are a delightful spot to sit and relax in at any time of day with a sunny patio providing the perfect place for alfresco dining in peace and tranquility.
Lying in a stunning peaceful valley, Dove's Dawn is handily situated only three miles from the A38. The sandy beaches and the picturesque fishing villages of Polperro and Looe are only a short distance away, from where wonderful cliff-path walks can be enjoyed along the South West Coast Path. The ancient market town of Liskeard is only three miles away and offers a selection of pubs, cafes, restaurants and individual shops, some retaining their attractive Victorian fronts and interiors, as well as major supermarkets, so all your needs will be met.
To the north west of Liskeard lies Bodmin Moor, made famous by Daphne du Maurier's Jamaica Inn. Just a short drive away is the Eden Project - a spectacular place with its stunning architecture and breathtaking living plant collection. Many quaint country pubs and restaurants are within a short drive. The Plough in Duloe is a traditional Cornish pub serving good food only 2 miles away and the nearest shop is 1.5 miles.
The other 5 holiday homes, sleeping from two to six, are Killigorrick Farmhouse (sleeps 6), Woodpecker's Barn (sleeps 4), Swallow's Roost (sleeps 6), Robin's Nest (sleeps 4) and Sky Lark (sleeps 2). Please see the individual properties for more detail.

The cottage was actually nice, but it is old and comletely smutty. The floor, the rugs, the windows, the toilet were dirty and sticky. The furniture handles and the door handles were also sticky. The toilet bowl was black. Everywhere were spiderwebs.
Our patio was not privat. Everybody used it as a public way. The owner or housekeeper said we are to early, (2 hours) but he cannot clean it in a short time and he did'nt have a equipment for cleaning, for example a scrubbing brush to clean the floor.
So we did'nt enjoy our stay in doves dawn and we don't want to advise it to friends. The house needs a basic cleaning.
The shower, the heating and the dishwasher were very good.
Cornwall was very beautiful, we like the environment, the coast and the people. We like St. Ives, Looe, Polperro, St. Austell, Eden Projekt and we are sure to come again to cornwall, but not again to doves down.
Thank you for your very honest reply.
As a result of the problems that have arisen over the past 4 months, I have spoken to the owner of the property and advised them to source a new cleaning company. The new cleaning company has now put in place and there is a very noticeable difference between the offering from Doves Dawn a few months to todays offering
As Managing Director of Staycation Holidays Booking Agents, I cannot apologise enough for the sub-standard that this property offered.
Quiet Location, but in poor condition.
Quiet Location in beautiful area. Flat was without heating and the landlord wasnt able to fix the problem within 7 days! Really insufficient service.
